Garfest 2010 Nominations

Quoting myself:

Are you doing some research of those characters before deciding? And who are the people who decide who get into GARfest and not?

Guessing they Wiki the characters and compile a list of good candidates, then whittle it down. As seriously as many people might take it though, it is only a game, and one for which free time is being sacrificed. Fairness is an odd gripe.

100% sure that a lot of GAR worthy characters are going to be left out.


I'll help a bit:

Gennosuke destroys a guys jaw with his fucking fist and it flies in the air for a while. He also looses an arm and develops a technique where he pretty much kills people in a swing.

Seigen fucks all the wimmins in the town, fucks the head samurai's wife, he gets punished and goes blind; but then he comes back and kills the head samurai in a very gory battle.

Brandon Heat gets betrayed by his best friend and then comes back from the dead to avenge Big Daddy, Maria and settle business mafia style!


Guts will win in the end anyway.

What a fuckin joke.

Which is the reason no real characters are being allowed this year.

As for the question of how will I know if I haven't seen the character, that's why I have more than 10 other people helping me. With our combined anime experience there are very few characters we haven't seen.

So is this group of people going to be non-biased in their choices? Or are certain characters going to be instantly ruled out due to being from an disliked anime/manga/other media?
First series that comes to mind as being in danger of this is Naruto, but im sure there's plenty other series among the nominations that doesn't sit well with some of the people in charge of picking out characters.

Of course we won't judge people on the anime they're from; we're judging the character themselves. I mean, Kakashi is from a shitty show but he's damn manly, same goes with a lot of characters.

(That's what I'm doing but don't tell anyone)

We still need a suGARfest though.

suGARfest? For fucking awesome women such as Revy? I'M ON IT. I will seriously bring it up with jake when he returns. Maybe run them concurrently?

I'd be happy if every character that relies entirely on their powers for their gar-ness to be disqualified. but i doubt that its possible to weed out all of em, so i hope they get knocked out in the first round.

Yeah, basically a GARfest for women. Someone mentioned it when I was first advertised GARfest on the front page.

I can see why men and women shouldn't be in the same competition, but I do find the idea pretty awesome.

And it certainly won't be flooded with bullshit nominations, I hope.

Just for the record, I was dead serious when I nominated Hideyoshi.
