I got a real job.

....and no longer know what to do with myself.
I finished community college, was denied transfer, but snagged a gig at State Farm working for the corporate office.
The problem is that I didn't really have a plan for a full-time....career-ish....salaryman style gig right now. Well it's nice to make about six dollars more than I did previously, I feel that this may be the death of my extended-extended-extended college career.
What the hell do people do with themselves when they get a real job?
Is this a suitable excuse to kick changing the world as a life goal, and settle for starting a media company that doesn't suck donkey dick?

Just because you found a job, doesn't mean that it ends your long term career or academic goals. It sounds like a great advancement, and it is possible that State Farm might help you improve your education with tuition assistance and career training. This is a significant job move, and it would be foolish to toss it away before you've given it considerable thought. Look closely at the job's benefits before you make your decision.

What counts as real job anyway? It's just a strange feeling in general.
I've been living on rails until now, never been without a larger goal before.
Like, I know the war's not over. I know that without significant effort, I will be unable to achieve ANYTHING, much less my previous plan...but this freedom feels troublesome. Like if I don't watch it closely the lull will eat my opportunity.

Sit on the bed, post on a forum you claim to hate, and berate others over an artbook contest nobody remembers happening.

Tell me about it. I took a semester off and the lull makes me no want to go back...

starting a media company that doesn't suck donkey dick?
What does that entail?

I've always had a vague concept for a studio run by the writers rather than marketing. Where content is green-lit by a collective, rather than one individual. It seemed, to me, like a way to get a less compromised version of the artist's vision to the audience...and like a concept that could be applied across mediums--working for video games, books, music, or whatever.
The idea came to me at a friend's birthday party, when his band and another were complaining about the low take from shitty club shows.

Be happy with what you got I guess, I know a lot of people who are having hard times finding jobs right now. I don't know how they got the money for a xbox one and games, but still.

What counts as real job anyway?I had too buy my own shirt when I worked at a car wash, so doubt that. Dude at least you finished and have something. The rest of us are either stuck in a rit, profiting, or still in college making nothing. I don't plan on stoping when I learn until I become happy with a job I have and all the knowledge I want.
