I can see a group think system working really well for music, and maybe films. Having multiple staff members take the time to digest a game, and then write a review might be more time consuming, and unfortunately well timed reviews (and content being released regularly) are a huge part of the industry. I've only seen Polygon do this sort of thing, and even then only for some reviews.
Personally I wouldn't mind delayed reviews that don't come out the day of or before release date, with an in-depth examination of various aspects of games. More of this guy. Actually a lot more that guy but with scheduled updates.

I finished community college, was denied transfer, but snagged a gig at State Farm working for the corporate office. The problem is that I didn't really have a plan for a full-time....career-ish....salaryman style gig right now. Well it's nice to make about six dollars more than I did previously, I feel that this may be the death of my extended-extended-extended college career.
Like a good fapping...hentai's over there?

I was thinking for the creation of works themselves, but reviews are like any other content when placed on the internet. The important part, I think, is joint control over any enterprise. Even if the choice of material is dictated by somebody else, as in a news outlet, peer review of the essays themselves would bring more well thought out commentary to the community---and do better to advance the art.

You should start by not presenting your business ideas in a public forum without proper security. I personally have no sense of what could turn a good profit, but it only takes a single person to claim an IP.
Other than that, enjoy being another cog in the machinery.

Last real job i had i was laid off because the state cut arts budget at the college. Thank god people still call me for gigs... not lately. Still working on rehab on the foot, but the galley still sells my prints and i can do editing from home for people.
Im unemployed full time after the army anyways. My work only takes 4 hours of my week normally.

Stay in your career, work up the latter and work yourself into the grave with two ex wives and shitty child support. Or figure out something else to do career-wise and work towards that. Go out to a bar and get shitfaced with the random stranger next to you that calls you bob the next morning and makes you question your sexuality. Go find people to talk to. Save your money for a trip somewhere or something sexy? Get into BDSM where you're the bitch of the relationship. Take Fight Club seriously and end up in jail within two seconds being laughed at.
Honestly just live your life, you make it sound like you're a dead man walking. Anyways, just figure out stuff to do so you can beat out the monotony of menial labor.

I'm sorry, man. Public works cuts are terrible on everybody.
Are you looking to get the same gig somewhere else? Do you have any larger projects in the works?
And, a co-op isn't a revolutionary organizational structure. The biggest barrier isn't a race to produce, like tech ventures. It's gathering quality talent and establishing distribution networks.
