I hate Twilight

I find the whole series to be lame and idiotic go read Anne Rice or Bram Stoker to see a real vampire, besides edward is a vegetarian lives in the woods and shimmers in the sun, HE IS A FUCKING WOODLAND FAIRY!

I thought the whole goal was not to have a bunch of "I hate Twilight" threads clogging up our server space. Even if it's in IB.

Ask them why they like the series but take away their option of saying Edward/Jacob is hot. They're stuck. They fail.

Eh, not saying I like it but I think the only complaining I hear is "Durr.. there not real vampires! Vampires don't glitter!"
I don't care, it is a girls book written by a woman for other women. The main ones complaining are guys because we heard the word Vampire and expected some cool ass vampires since this saga was getting so much attention.

Twilight is the greatest book ever written. You're all jealous of Edward's beauty and Jacob's masculinity. You wish you could get high school girls to fall in love with you, but you never will. How about you nerds take a shower and go outside for a change.

I remember my teacher in my junior year of high school suggesting it to me at a book fair. I got it because she said she enjoyed it, and almost nobody knew of it at that time.
Girls get really hooked on that kind of thing, because it's wonderful to hear about a guy who would do anything in the world to be with you. There's also many girls who love the 'dangerous' type.
I remember really loving this book, and by the 3rd one I loved that one the most. That's when Twilight started becoming 'all the rage' and it was upsetting, because it wasn't your little jewel anymore.
I didn't even read the last book, I started to, but then I realized that the story wasn't progressing in the way I hoped it would at all. The last book was supposed to:
But no, instead it was:
So I stopped reading it. Fuck you Twilight Fan girls. Fuck you. They ruin everything.

I also once saw a very good Anti Twilight Youtube video. It wasn't your average high pitched girl or mad boyfriend because his g/f wasn't talking about anything but Twilight, but she actually made good points.
She spoke about the book sent the wrong message to a lot of young girls, and the young girls are the ones who are reading the book and taking it to heart. In the book, Bella literally was nothing without Edward. The second book was solely about her being miserable and doing wreckless things because Edward broke things off with her. She couldn't eat, she couldn't go to school - she was nothing.
She said that books like that shouldn't send that kind of message, because society already pushes girls to go into relationships because if she doesn't have one she's not worth anything.
I think she has a point, but I don't think it's a reason to hate the book. The book got more superficial as time went on. I think the popularity of it going way mainstream really affected it's plot.

Ziggy is smarter than the lot of you.
I also noticed that the protaganist was a clingly little thing and thought people would think the story would send the wrong message. But instead of being symbolic or having any deep meaning I think the author simply wanted to be entertaining and pluck at that certain string inside of women. The one that sometimes wants to play damsel in distress while being loved by a man that will go to extreme lengths for you. Placing the protaganist in that somewhat helpless position fulfills that fantasy to a degree, and I don't think that is wrong - or at least was wrong until the series became very popular.

you know that feeling when you look at something and you cant exactly explain why but you just hate it? this applies to twilight. this movie just gives vampires a bad name. i love the movie " a interview with a vampire" and the manga " hellsing" so im not trying to bash on vampires. just overrated actors.

I really wasn't expecting a +rep from that, I almost expected a -rep for reading the books lol.
I do dislike the movies though. This is the type of story that you really have to read and let your own imagination take you places. The movie is too literal, and doesn't pass along the meaningfulness that the book gave you.
Razama said it nicely, it pulls at the certain strings that females have when it comes to fictional love. Sometimes it's nice thinking about the man who will do anything for you in the world. It makes a girl feel warm and fuzzy inside. Realistically though you can get that same feeling, but without a guy going through those impossible lengths to show his feelings.
I would think guys would complain less, most guys claim chivalry is gone now.

When I was home for thanksgiving my little cousin won't stop talking about the damn books and movies. I didn't pay them any mind, since I thought Twilight was just the new Harry Potter or something. Then when I went to see Zombieland (perhaps the most awesome movie this year), my eyeballs were raped, RAPED, by the damn Twilight movie trailer.
That girl, whatever her name is, made me want to smack some self respect and sense into her. So what if the metrosexual decided that pootan's no longer for him, there's no reason for her to be borderline suicidal. And what is it with the other buffer metrosexual? Is he THAT intent on getting sloppy seconds? What's more, I've seen prostitutes in Thailand that's more masculine than those two, and those hookers aren't even trannies!
Real men don't act like that! We got hair on our face, whiskey in our breath, gravy stain on our jeans, condoms in our wallets (and we're not afraid to use them!), skidmarks in our boxers, and by god, we pack a beer gut if we aren't too afraid to down a few pints! Stop perverting little girls' expectation so that they'd grow up to judge hot blooded real men by measuring them against metrosexual ones.
Buddha help me if my little cousins grow up to be like that girl in Twilight, or worse, little boys today growing up to be like those two. Why do some of us just dislike this damn series the second we learn more about it? Because it goes against all that we hold dear! This assault against masculinity must not be tolerated!
