He made a thread calling me a retard and saying I missed a joke.

I point out that If I am retarded I'm likely more intelligent than he is and that I didn't miss the joke.

He responded that he was comfortable with how intelligent he was and that I missed the joke(guess he wanted to reiterate).

You said he/we were overcompensating.

That is the gist of the story so far.

The IQ test I took was when I was in 6th grade so my parents never gave me a number, just that it was higher than 89% of the population. The reason I brought up IQ was because of the "retard" comment made in the thread title and as some of you know IQ is a direct measurement which determines someone's state as mentally handicapped.

I admit it is poor, but only because I only insult halfheartedly. I'm too lazy to say, "Oh he's kind of smart, but he misses a joke because he's ignorant as fuck because he's full of himself and doesn't read anything so he makes comments that look like he doesn't grasp a simple joke," so I oversimplified and misled by saying you're a retard.

Its an interesting retard-or-not litmus test but I don't put much meaning into it. I took one around the same time you did, Waar, and was told I was retarded. I had the highest grades in my class so the school didn't believe it and made me redo it while actually putting effort into it. Result: genius. In hindsight its hilarious.

Ignorant... you really don't choose your words carefully. Accuse me of being lazy or disinterested, but don't use words that I can easily rip apart. It's like your struggle to turn this into an insult is causing you to veer way off course from your point and it's giving me ammunition to belittle you.

edit: Butterfly, those test always require you to put effort into them. If I can do something and choose not to or choose to do it incorrectly that test cant gauge my motives or mindset.

Same deal here. Did the mensa one twice. First time I half assed it and got something like 98. Did it a second time, and paid close attention... still rushed it, and got the 120 mark. I'm not a fan of taking time to do tests. Probably doing them whilst I have an interest, so I don't get distracted.

That's uh... Not overly relevant to iq. You could have a large iq, and still get that confused. I knew of a girl who had 140 iq, but was dyslexic and was dumb as fuck. Aced her grades, was just as bad as gallow in things like that. Still convinced she was just dumb. But yeah, really smart, but also really really dumb.
It's along the same lines as really smart or logical people lacking social skills.
Feel free to correct me, that's just from memory, and as I'm sure we all know from me now, my memory is shit-tier

Honestly through my observations, I don't think Waar likes anyone here and it baffles me that most of his interaction with anyone here can be summed up as the following, "HAHAHAHA I'm smarter than you; look how stupid you are compared to me." I'm fine with pointing out other people's mistakes, especially if you want the other person to learn from it, or being prideful in your intelligence but Waar just takes "I'm smarter than you" mentality to a unpleasant level.
