Lost my job

My brother is seriously in jail because of dealing heroin. I'm visiting him for the first time after he's been in there for almost 2 years.

He got a 9 year sentence but he was offered a 9 month bootcamp thing with 2 years of probation or something like that, he's choosing the bootcamp.

Shit sucks Ziggy, but I know how that goes, I've got people I work with that hate me because I'm better at my job than them and they do the same thing and have been there longer than me. But That's why I also love Unions, they have to have a damn good reason to fire you if you are union.

But being reserved around people is not a bad thing, I'm the same way, I prod customers for information. I take a foot and then give them an inch. Best way to your job is make customers feel welcome and make them feel that they are the most important person there is.

If you actually, watched me do my job, I'm a goof ball but then I don't really reveal anything about myself. I've been tagged by mystery shoppers 4 times in my time spent working there, all four times I've been rated 100%. I've gotten On the Spot Above and Beyond awards by the management, and I'm actually the number 2 bagger in the store.

If kissing ass is what it takes to keep your job then that's not a good place to work. My managers and Co-Workers know I won't kiss your ass or the ground you walk on I could care less, about you or who you are, or what you do.

One other thing that's a good way to help keep your job do anything they ask you. Stay over a few hours? Sure, Clean the bathrooms? Sure, Help this old lady do her shopping? Sure. Act like the store General Manager isn't a dick? That a tough one but I can do it.

Odd coincidence.

Also, some people DO kick the habit, you know.
Not enough people do it successfully to really hurt business, though, I guess.
Heroin has big fucking hooks, man.

Also, when you are doing something illegal, you have to at least realize the possibility of getting caught.

Nope. All you do is "bridge" the knee straight over the gap. Then you stomp on the knee opposite of how it bends. You snap the knee in half. You could always lay the knee on it's side and if you strike it properly you'll break the knee in two.

Anyways, I was suggesting just an old fashion curb stomping of her ex-coworkers.



That is why a lot of people sell pot. If you get caught in some areas they will only take your weed and give you a small fine. Most jail sentences I have heard of are rather light.

In the US sentences for drug offenses can be really stupid. It depends on the quantity of pot, and even more so depends on the cop who catches you. Some cops will take your shit an unofficially warn you so they can keep it for themselves. Others still will be REAL pricks and charge you with intent to sell even though you haven't got nearly enough for it to be a realistic charge.
I'm not really sure about like... the real law and such, though.
Most cops I've encountered didn't seem to be too bothered by silly things like the law.

But back on topic - turns out Petco his hiring and it's located right down the road from my college. So my availability rises because of that.
Also they're hiring for team leaders.
I'm pretty confident that I can get the job if I get an interview. I worked in a retail store for a few months, got a raise after 2 months and recognized with an MVP award .-. Why was I let go again? :(

Anyway,
I'd get paid more to just give people hours, put money in their drawers and do overrides for when they mess up on cash register.
I'm going to have to finish the application tomorrow since I can't remember the store owner of best buys last name x3!!

so you know what your problems is and you still have trouble getting by? (the invisible wall thing). You know what you have to do to fix is so... fix it, fake it if you have to. I guess that's the nice way to put it zig, I wish I could try and comfort you like 90% of the community but that's just not me. I do not wish you any ill will in your future endeavors.

I know the feeling Ziggy. Keep looking and quick. The economy is turning to shit, and finding a job is hard for everybody. I work a shit job that I hate but its better than to be what I was. I went to a lot of interviews to be turned down, or for positions to close. Getting a job is hard, but have faith and you'll find one. Perhaps another Best Buy?

Having first hand experience, trust me when I say that no one ever truly kicks the habit. They can suppress it, but once you're hooked, its something that lives in you forever. Its like an attack dog that locks it's jaws on your nuts. I've been clean for over a year, but the dog is still swinging. That's why selling D is such a lucrative business.

That's true, but even more so, if there's a possibility of getting caught, you've gotta be smart when the cops are getting up in your shit. It can be hard and it doesn't always work, but I've never been arrested or even "given a ride home" by the police.

It is indeed difficult to secure a job during these uncertain times. Although their numbers may be few and in-between, I believe there are some who view their retrenchment as a positive thing, allowing them to pursue other goals in life, such as furthering their studies or heading down another career route.

As long as you don't give up, things should turn out fine eventually.

I don't feel addicted anymore. I've been clean for over 2 years. Now, I haven't been around it since then, so I guess if I was I might feel the urge. I may or may not have an addictive personality, but I don't worry about it. If something stops being interesting or gets in the way of things, I'll just stop doing it.
Also, for the most part, cops only talk to me when I'm NOT doing anything seriously wrong.
When I am doing something illegal, they seem to be nowhere to be found.
Although, for a few years there I lived in a county with no police force...
