Well usually it's based on having conversations with people and getting to know them through chatting, PMs, maybe Skype or MSN conversations. And then once an actual relationship is established...people might decide to get married. Or some people just do it for fun.It's not really a "Hey, I'm available and I enjoy long walks on the beach and you must be a 32DD" type of dating site setting...

And as a side note, some or most of those chats while getting to know people, don't usually end up with people getting... "married". I'm a prime example of it... Tried two different people, had strong connections with them, and then got my heart ripped out... ;-;
