My kitty's shrine

So I thought I'd share what my shrine looks like for my cat who passed away a year ago. If anyone else has a special spot they want to take pictures of that they feel is important to them feel free ;)
His ashes are inside the black cat behind the Buddha.

If I go down to where I used to live any time soon I'll take a picture of the tree my dog used to sleep under and post it here...

That's so pretty! I hope this doesn't come across as insensitive to the kitty himself, but... I love the colour scheme you have going on there. It's a really beautiful shrine.
My pets all just got little rocks above their cardboard box buried in the backyard. Haha.

Its nice to see some people still have a heart in these days. I can't visit my dogs fav place by the beach its at my old home across the states but I'll always remember him tracking salty smelling sand into the car after a good swim :)

Thats Awesome... you still miss your cat Ziggy?Yeah, there's specific things I miss. He always, always slept with me at night. He'd either sleep on the pillow I would sleep with (so partially on my head) or he'd curl up against my tummy while I slept on my side at night.
These are my two current cats, Hazel and Jazz:
Spoiler:
Hazel can be a lap cat as long as she can get under covers. She has this burrowing fetish, or something. She'll lay with you for hours as long as she can be under covers.
Jazz is too spazzy to even be held, let alone be a lap cat, but he's very affectionate despite that.

The dog he impregnated, thus producing puppies, thus being half his as well?

slightly creepy.
I love my animals, i've lost a few of them already, animals ive had since i was young but I dont see the need to have my animal cremated.

Some people pay a shitload of money to have their animal's ashes turned into diamonds...
http://www.lifegem.com/secondary/beloved_pets_main2006.aspx
From $3,500 to $20,000...
so having the ashes alone shouldnt be constituted as creepy...
I think burying them would be better then you could just have one special place to go and visit your pet instead of being able to carry it around, sure you wont "always have it near you" but I dunno thats how I see it...

Keep in mind, when I lost my cat I was living with my mom. Where we lived didn't have a spec of grass on it. We lived in a building that was above a flower shop, which used to be an old restaurant. So there was parking area in the front and back, and no grass.
Otherwise I would have buried him.
We had to euthanize him, because he was just a sick mess. We paid for him being put down and the vet offered to cremate him with no extra charge. They gave it to us in a plastic container and I was mad and couldn't even look at it. You could see the ashes through it and it wasn't something I wanted to see so my mom got me that black cat urn.

i just dont understand the attachment to the vessel, you know? I loved my dad, but his remains aren't what he was.

I'm sure you understand the "attachment to the vessel" , you just think its dumb. I know you must be smart enough to realize it is a symbolic piece that reminds us (ziggy) of the times she had with her kitty.

Ashes just seem problematic in sooo many ways.
ps. please don't attempt to read my thoughts on a matter such as this again.

I already said why I had the urn, if I had my absolute way, I'd bury him and just put a rock by it.
I'm not going to take the ashes out of the urn, seeing a corpse is easier then seeing gritty sand and what looks to be tiny pieces of bone.
