I actually bought Pan's Labyrinth a couple of days ago, along with The White Ribbon and The Lives of Others; might watch it tonight. Some absolute bargains from world cinema on Amazon at the moment.

On writing contest origins, I think the idea was originally spawned in the Pumpkin carving competition thread, and it took hold as a serious proposition with Neko's Christmas story. :)

Zigs, because she was the first user who I saw and thought, "Oh hey! A girl! This isn't a male only site..."
Rbz because he writes some funny stuff. I don't really talk to him but I enjoy his post.
And Gambler because he is an excellent moderator.

I like everyone else too though! I don't dislike a single one of you.

Also I'm going to amend my earlier post. Since I don't converse with Rbz, I'm going to say Badguy is one of my favorite users. Once again, however, Sisami is not.

I consider myself to have a fairly good mastery of the English language, but one thing has always puzzled me and I haven't bothered to do any research on it:

's usually denotes either possession or an abbreviation for the addition of "is" to a word.

But in what context is it proper to use s' ?

Also, what are the rules when the possessive noun ends in an "s" ?

s's ?

or just s ?

I seem to recall you being an English Major.

I think I learned that shit in fuckin' third grade.

If a word ends with s but you want that shit to be plural, you slap an apostrophe at the end.

EXAMPLE: CHRIS' DICK IS SMALL.

Third grade is a looooong time ago, and it's not something I see very often.

@PumpJack - these questions are lack a certain Je ne sais quoi...

Also Sisami is right on both points. Just add an apostrophe after a word ending in "s", and it was covered in third grade lol.
