Since my old laptop got fried (was either the fan or the drive itself, fucked if I know), I went out and picked up a new one.

My first experience with Windows 8.


How the fuck do you smartphone people deal with this bullshit.

I DON'T NEED THIS STUFF.

And I can't see any of it when I try to uninstall it.

Brand new laptop, and it's a slow as my old one because of all this random, useless crap.

Make sure it's on 8.1.

You can also disable the Metro layout.

I'm really going to hate the day I need to get a new laptop. I like Windows 7.

Do you download 8.1 or can I switch that on somewhere?

And how do you disable the Metro layout?

Hence why they releasing windows 10.

New PC here, it's got 8.1, so some things are a little foreign to me (like the useless as fuck built in "apps"), but after some more software downloading, I never have to see that ugly phone-like interface again.

I'll trade you my XP desktop for your windows 8.

If you purchased any laptop besides a dell or a Chinese brand laptop you should be "semi-fine".

Just 5 days ago I chipped in half with my sis to get the ASUS Zenbook UX305FA, it's works great and a big plus is that its super thin/light weight but the Window 8 is indeed a pain in the arse and will take a while to get used it.

You should of consulted with a computer expert(friend) before you got one :/

Good luck with your 4GB of RAM cap, on XP that is. Speaking of which, do you have specs? If you don't know how to look 'em up, use Speccy.

4GB RAM and 500GB HDD is all I know.

CPU and GPU.

Also you can disable aero via regedit in 8/8.1. There guides on youtube.

Or just right click the windows icon on the left side to get a ghetto version of a start task bar.
