OK WTF SERIOUSLY

so on my days off from both work and school I enjoy my free time by skateboarding with friends and what not. Im not a picky skater I skate where I can...But today i was skating in public in what seemed like a dead empty area near where i live so me and my friends are filming just random clips of us when an old lady and her kid comes up and she starts bitching at me saying I look like one of the guys who beat up her son at the skatepark miles away from where we were. at first we tried to calmly tried to explain that it wasn't us but this bitch just kept doing what she does best and kept bitching so getting defensive i start to yell back in her face but she goes ahead and smacks me and while still in a what the fuck just happened moment she pushes me over and calls the cops. We stayed there until the cops got there and after some background checks and what not the cops get her story first and then ours... The bitch was crazy and crying for lord knows why but the cops believed her side of the story and we end up going to the police office. First we sat in the little waiting room and the cop finally comes in and tells us that the little kid finally said something and that charge is cleared but then he tells us that we were skateing in a no skate zone so we still get processed as committing a felony we were about to get up and leave when the cops tell us to go to the front desk to pay... each of us pays 100 dollars each.. a few days later a letter arrives in the mail and it is a court hearing to discuss what we did, it even mentioned the bitch and that we would talk about her too and that is costing me another 400 bucks...long story short i now have a record in america, im down the drain 500 dollars and i have to go to court....best day off ever

Then she would get in shit for that. And I don't understand about the additional 400 bucks. Is that for some sort of bail or automatic fine?

the 400 bucks is the fee for the court room and charges that go towards the trial...when im there im going to bring up the bitch slapping and pushing me over....and there was no sign saying that skating wasn't allowed

That's good then cause she committed battery, can't let that slip by. And I'm still confused why your going to court, the charge was dropped for hitting the kid, so that should've been done with already. But that's also a good idea to bring up the non existent no skating sign.

She doesn't have any evidence is more like it. And besides, the kid already dropped the charge. It pisses me how their crying gives them more leeway.

Go do some research on little league sports. Parents go crazy over the simplest bullshit. There's gotta be something in the water.

The whole story seems sketchy.

How did she find you? Was she just driving by and the kid yelled "Mama, thats the guy who kicked my ass."? Two, why didn't one of your friends use their camera to record the whole thing (thus getting her shoving you on tape)but, also provided evidence in your defense. Three, how is skating in a no-skate zone a Felony? misdemeanor maybe, but, not a Felony. No way would any sane person compare you skating to an act like Extortion, Murder, Rape or Embezzlement.

Provided that your story is true. This just proves that the current legal system is a mockery of justice.

The whole skating in a no skate zone is bull shit, that should be a 'small' fine, at most. I've never been fined for skating in a no skate zone. I've skated schools, other government buildings, private properties, the whole nine yards.

It depends on the local laws, though. Also, our police force sympathizes with skaters in our area, as we have almost no place to skate. We get a warning and we're told to leave. We've also never had any skaters press charges because there were no signs, then broke something on private property (which is a reason to ask us to leave).

We've had the cops called on us, and one time, we were on school property skating when 8 cars pulled up with lights on. We stopped what we were doing, gave them no shit, and left when we were told to. There was a break in while we were there, but we weren't a part of it.

But, I'm also in a place where 90% of the time, smoking weed won't get you in trouble as long as you put it out before the cops get to you.

Having said all that, I still think you got pwnt. Your friends should have got it on tape, and you could have pressed charges. At the least, everything might've been dropped. You did nothing wrong (no signs posted), and that bitch assaulted you.

And so the "justice system" left a gaping hole in your ass. Getting raped is never too swift.

when she found us we were just minding our business a car drove by and then it went by another couple times i have no clue what they were saying in the car and finally the lady got out and started all that shit. I think my buddy Jake did tape it but not me getting hit because she also bitched about that too...and i used felony because it sounded more awesome than misdemeanor
