I'll be getting it sometime soon, not sure when, but I keep telling myself I'll have a PS4 by April. I prefer playing games in console over PC.

[EDIT] I don't understand how people sometimes consider themselves better just because they are gaming with PC compared to others who choose to buy a console. At the end of the day, you're using it to play a game as a hobby/to kill time/kill boredom/thrash people who can't play over the internet.

Most people bash on console being quite expensive for the shit your getting. $500 can go a long way in a gaming pc rather than your so called "octacore" apus your hailing right now.
Anyone that thinks they themselves are better is most likely a narc.

1) Because graphics. Higher-end PCs outperform Consoles but they tend to be a shit-ton more expensive, or at least here they are. But it's a double-edged sword because Lower-end/older PCs don't.
2) Mods.

With the new generation of JTAG and Flashers coming out, cross platform mods arent going to be a problem on consoles.

3) Some cross-platform games have features only available for PC users. Skyrim and its command console, for example. Come across a persistant bug on PS3 you're fucked, but PC you can just remove the problem. You'd have to port your save to PC to use the console to fix the issue.

Well, I admit, price and practicality is one of the disadvantages of the console, which many of those who buy console don't think of it as something that bothers them very much, or else they'll find themselves buying PC instead of console.

Finance alone doesn't really justify a reason for people to bash on a console (I'm not even sure why people do that). It's true you can't do your assignment on a console, or easy to download games for free on a console, but I don't think that matters when you're gaming.

I mean, personally, I enjoy playing console with my brother or many of my best mates, and with PC, it isn't what you would consider, would it? You wouldn't exactly play FIFA with your other 3 friends on a PC, or play anything really with friends.

Really, I don't have any problems with PC or the users or those who thinks PC is better than a console, because they are in some ways, but I just hate it when I see that pic somewhere in this thread posted by someone.

@Gravity Cat: Well, it seems like the advantage of PC over console is cheaper maintenance and repair if shit goes south. I agree with you, but that doesn't really justify a reason to bash on console, does it? And there are also some games that only will come out on console, or if they do come on PC, some of it would be later (GTA is an obvious example, but let's gloss over that).

At the end of the day, you buy PC/Console to have a good time gaming, not banging on about who has got cheaper stuff. Instead of banging on how console is expensive and shit like that, why not use that energy on doing something we all love, that is, play a game and have a good laugh?

Still have consoles from pretty much every company (Playstation 2, psp, nintendo 3ds and soon 2 advances, xbox 360, xbox (well, it's my sisters).) Of the current ones that is. Used to have an amiga, but no idea where that is. Think dad threw it out, which makes me mad

Well this I have to agree on. Real gamers have every console there is and a pc, so you can play all the games there is. Hats off to you, sir.

PC gaming IS better, that I'll admit, but consoles have a unique appeal to them with exclusive games, affordability, split-screen gameplay, and not having to conform to new specs practically every 3 months. I have a soft-spot for PCs, but console gaming has its benefits. Given the choice between PS4 and Xbox One, I'd lean toward PS4, certain Sony exclusives appeal to me, and I was practically raised by Sega, Nintendo and Sony. Sega died, I.e. outgrew Nintendo, so Sony is the right choice for keeping to a familiar and almost nostalgic experience.

Some people (though thankfully not all) just like bragging about the equipment they use. Seems to be all about the quality of the PC and how pretty the game looks/performs rather than just about playing it. I can't stand people like that.

It's not always about pure gaming, but what your black entertainment box can do, how well it does, and at what cost. Anyone who's kept an eye out on the industry knows that consoles are trying to become more general entertainment devices.

I've made jokes about this myself, but it's not really true unless you're an idiot who falls to any advertisement. If my PC still worked(it would've been 4 years old by now), it would have no problem running most modern games are med-high setting at 60fps.

I do miss split-screen multiplayer, but that's practically dead everywhere. Things like that are usually not a PC vs. console thing, but developers moving on to different things.

Like the PS3 at launch, it suffers from not having any games

Maybe a year or 2 down the line when they have some weeb exclusives I'll get it. For now, I'll just save up for a new computer and probably play Skyrim with loli mods or something.
