[font=verdana][color=green]Well, I do hope that you reconsider that stance, Aura. After the work you've put in for this, it would be a shame for you not to be a part of it now.
well I have yet to pair people up yet so if I can get 5 people to tell me to join before I do then I shall join.
you are one I will assume
[font=verdana][color=green]Of course, and I can assume the same for Mouse as well.
I actually would veto such a proposal, but since Im not british, Ill do something else.
couldnt think of a clever way to end that... huh, all this reading is getting to me...
[font=verdana][color=green]Well, if it's in your national interest to veto, then you're more than free to do so. Just don't be surprised when everyone else just blames everything on you when it's their fault to begin with.
well, im not as overly euro-skeptic as you, Sam. And I ultimately believe that isolating England from the rest of europe will not be in the best interests of England. I do however beleive that England was full within their own rights to use a veto, but could have handled the situation much better. I liked how a senior Lib Dem described the situation though "We basically went in and said, 'If you don't do as we want, we will shoot ourselves in the head.'"
anyway, that was not meant to be a debate, just a humorous throw-away comment.
[font=verdana][color=green]Well, of course you're not; seeing as you're a Dane living in a foreign country, who originally came from another foreign country (although I don't like the word "overly"). The funny thing is is that people are saying that the UK have "isolated" themselves, but the fact remains that German/French/EU businesses won't stop trading with the UK due to this political debate. That's all that really matters. Besides, the EU was also asking of
American businesses who are based in London to pay tax towards the EU even if they weren't trading with EU businesses; that's just ridiculous. Besides, Merkozy left no room for compromise; they basically said to the other EU countries; "Here's the deal. Take it or leave it".
Funny thing is that no-one batted an eyelid when Germany or France used vetoes in the past. Swings and roundabouts don't exist in Germany or France it seems.
