Secret Santa gift giving shouldn't be thought of so personally even if you know the person. If he/she has a past with you either good or bad at least keep the main focus of the holiday spirits in mind and not your own agenda. I think the point is to wish someone a merry christmas or put them in good spirits on this happy occasion. I'm not saying its bad if you know the person and are friends with them. Then do w/e the heck u want cause ur not out to make them upset.

Exactly, while giving a present that shows you know a bit about your person is good, try to stay in the holiday spirit and promote laughter and smiles. That is the point of this whole event. If you know it will only result in tears, and not the happy kind then why would you do it?

There is no way asking if making them cry is okay" is a simple question. And the secret part of the "secret santa" is mainly the "santa" as you can say what you want about the gift just not who you are "santa" for.

Point: I made a fun poem for my person, should hopefully get some smile and laughs from it.

Did I say I knew what it was? No. I was simply stating the fact that this isn't an event that was made to upset people. And you clearly stated that you want to make this person cry. Which is messed up.
