So I got my first ticket.
Will the citation get revoked?

God, I got it for the most awful reason too.
Our toilet hasn't been working, and maintenance never got their asses down to fix it today. So having to use the restroom I got in my car to drive to Wal-Mart which is down the road about a mile from the house.
On the way I did stop at a gas station that appeared to be open, but the doors were locked. Frustrated, I got back in my car and drove the rest of the way to Wal-Mart. Right as I turned to go into it I saw lights flash on ~.~
I didn't have my headlights on. When I had gotten back into my car I was careless and didn't turn them on >.<
Sure enough I didn't even have my license on hand, I didn't bring my purse. All I had wanted to do was go to the bathroom ~.~
I started crying, lol. I didn't think I'd be the type to cry when getting pulled over but I got completely upset. We just had to pay to get Fpods truck back after being towed when left out overnight in a parking lot due to the break getting stuck. Then this happened to me and I just started really crying.
He gave me a warning with my lights but gave me a citation for not having the license on hand. He had said he understood I just needed to go somewhere quick, but if I'd ever get hurt then there'd be no way to identify me. Which is BS - my license number is right on my citation ;|
So... I'm going to the court house tomorrow showing my ID explaining the situation and hopefully getting the citation removed.
My mom said along with Nikon that most states will do that, however some other people think it won't be fixed because I got a citation due to me not having it on person, not because I was driving without one.
So... what do you all think? D:

you would have avoided everything had you had it on you, law is pretty clear on it; if the cop shows up you're going to have to pay.

I actually have a court date that I must attend to prove I have a license .-. it says if I don't attend then my license will get suspended and could potentially have a warrant for my arrest issued.
I'm hoping if I just go down there in the morning it'll save a lot of time and a hassle. The court date isn't until January

most likely wont get a chance to see the judge then, that's how it works here.

I remember my first ticket. I was doing 105 on the highway in a Nissan Kingcab. Got caught at 80. Took a class and the ticket was nullified. Thank god my first ticket was on the highway, speeding. That's the only way I was able to get off the hook. That class was free, too.

I was doing 140 mph (not the quickest I have done eather, but that is another story) I managed to get down to 75 (60mph zone) before the cop saw me thankfully. That is gaol time over here for those speeds. I ended up with an AUD $200 fine.

Thanks Shinji :)
I called today, and the lady said unfortunately it would be up to the judge when I go to my court date. She asked the date and I said when and she was just "Holy cow, why did he make the date so far out?!" so I guess I'll just necrobump this thread on January 28th 2011 after my first court date over me driving down the road to the bathroom without my license ;|

Wait. You couldn't use your tits to get out of it? Was the officer a woman or somethin'?
Also, crying; A classic method of getting out of driving tickets.

hmm in WI if you don't have your license they right you a warning that turns into a ticket if you don't show up and prove you have a legal license within 48 hours.
That truly sucks, depending on how strict the rules are in your area you could have a great shot of getting it revoked or none at all, no in between with that stuff.
