I noticed a lot of peoples' reaction was that it was "like Megaman" or they would just say "that one Megaman anime" or whatever, lol. Not too sure as to why but if they liked it, I didn't care. Honestly, I think it's one of the best, most artistic series out there. The stories in the first season are all great, if not tragic; and the second season introduces a lot to the story that ends up making the series feel like some sort of allegory of Jesus Christ what with Luna's revival, performing miracles, curing the ill, Dio forming a faction or cult against Casshern, who obtained immortality for "killing the Sun named Moon" and thereby causing the Ruin (this diseas of sorts that kills all robots in its wake). It just feels so multi-layered and thought out, it's hard for me to not to fanboy about it haha.
Sadly, no one else seems as enthusiastic about the series as I am and so there aren't really any theories or analysis from others to back up my own thoughts.
One of my favorite scenes in any anime. At least watch this.
(This song was in English in the Japanese dub as well, if you're the type who detests dubs.)
Also, I can't stress enough just how much I love that that's how the episode ends! Usually things have a sort of denouement after things like that, but this just has a very short shot of Casshern and Friender walking off into a wasteland and then it fades. It may sound weird but the series is kind of like Samurai Jack in its cinematography at times (like that for instance)

[color=#006FFF]Well I've never watched SAO entirely, and I skimmed episodes 1 and 2 of Nobunaga, so I can't rightfully say I hate the series but I guess you could say that I don't like them just because I'm a pretty picky bastard when it comes to watching an anime through and through haha.
For instance, if the art isn't much to my liking, there's a good chance I won't want to watch it. If it's in a genre I have no interest in (e.g. Slice of life, comedy) chances are slim that I'll try it. And then there are the more specific things I look for like, if the cast is compiled of 90% girls, I'll either avoid it or watch it reluctantly (the only exceptions to this are Lucky Star and Azumanga Diaoh because they were the first slice of life/comedies I saw and it didn't feel played out yet). I really hate this lull of "moe moe kyuu" anime we're in right now, with every season having at least 3 "moe" series full of cutesy girls and that's partly why I get really excited about a series when I like it. It's nice to be reminded that not everything (figuratively speaking) is like that.
The only constant exceptions to these rules are that, if it's made by Trigger (especially Imaishi) I will watch it and there's a 99.9% chance of me loving it. If it's made by Shinichiro Watanabe, chances are around 80% that I'll enjoy it (the only one recently that wasn't for me being Kids on the Slope). Other than that, they have to meet certain criteria for me, as harsh as that may seem. I just can't get into anime very easily. Having a unique art style is the thing I'm the biggest sucker for though, easily. I watched Casshern Sins just for that reason at first.

I see. Each person has his/her own preferences about anime so it's ok (unless if they begin to bash others' preferences like their own is the most righteous one). So something unique, eh? Remind me to another user here, who is very hard to be pleased.

@Azelle; Glad to see you aren't jumping down my throat over that since I know a number of other people who would be just from hearing that I don't really like what SAO is, lol. I'm definitely cool with people liking their own thing since everyone has their own tastes, however with that being said there are definitely things that I can't stand in anime and don't like when people like it (although that's mostly because I don't get what they like about it) like excessive fan service. I'm not big on implied relationships (especially yuri/yaoi) either but that's because it feels so pandering, as if the makers just do it for all the shippers watching so they can say "___ and ___ are totally a couple." or whatever. I know people ship characters in EVERYTHING but I wish writers wouldn't encourage it because I find it annoying.
Like... 90% of Madoka fan art is based on the idea of all of the girls les'ing out and I hate that because I love Madoka's story and art direction. I wish people would take it (and other series) a little more seriously is all.

Haha, I see. I also dislike yuri and yaoi things, though I can still watch the title as long as the makers didn't blatantly put it like you've said. Scary Madoka is scary.
