Well it's something we always eat with everything... Veggies with rice, meats with rice, almost everything eaten with rice... And we never get bored of it... There's even the saying goes "We don't have a meal if we don't eat rice"That means you have rice everyday~ At least not just plain rice, mixed with other dishes it´s fine I guess~

Yes, I don't think rice is edible by itself... It's like complementary to the main dish, but IT HAVE TO BE THERE for every meal.
