Welcome to the club Elfen. I don't have a console either and am damn happy with it. I mostly play strategy games and playing them on the PC is just way more fun in my opinion. As for consoles: Most of them are just expansive heaps of trash in my opinion that gather dust at some point.

Yeah, Iconus Guardians are a bitch but with the right amount of phase missles.... BAM. XD Though my friend is quite hard to beat since he loves to spam the Guardians... While I'm quickly trying to bring them down, he slowly starts takiing out my fleet and he and I have had many even outcomes and are forced to withdraw... I usually don't care too much about casualties though since my gates bring in the Exile fleet for free. :D

I have every consele but the wii and dreamcast.

No shit, right? God did I hate that damn thing. The red screen would give me a headache if I played for any length of time.

I don't recommend you the Dreamcast. I have some consoles, but I use emulators for old/I don't want to have consoles.

I would try to go after the Mothership first if I were in your position. True it is a bit annoying that the Iconus guardians absorbs so much damage, but in the end, he still takes it, while as long as the Mothership is active, it just replenishes the shields at an awesome rate. Especially if there are 3 or so in the fleet you are trying to bring down, it get's to be a real pain in the arse.

The thing that I hate about the Vasari is that I had capital ships dieing on me with 2500+ shields but 0 hp :( However what I really love is the capital ship ability of the Rapture. Just capturing other peoples repair / support vessel is nice. As the saying states: All your repair vessels are belong to me!... or something like that.
Well, turn based games being long is true. Depending on the title I can spend a day or a week on trying to beat a scenario / campaign. I really loved playing "Carthage" as a faction in Rome. Those war elephants going berserk right in the middle of his army were awesome :D

You know, it's kinda funny. The Dreamcast was supposed to beat PS2 and X Box, but the only thing it did better was suck and die.

I had Mario Tennis, I think the fucking thing came with it, but still good.

It had some good games, but... wasn't enough. And Sega got OWNED. I still couldn't imagine Sonic on SSBB.
