Cost without gpu (it's not selling over here yet) over 2000 Euro. Half of the price is consisted of CPU alone

My future rig will only be AMD. NVIDIA and Intel is fuckign expensive!!! And AMD is in the same line as NVIDIA, so its kinda pointless to get one.

Friend has Intel and AMD. Says it kicks ass.

And as a processor. Im getting this AMD FX 4170. Seems promising and i dont have to spend 250 euros for I7. FX 4170 costs only half of that.

yeah AMD gets the job done so my future rig will have that processor as well. All I will use it for is gaming so I dont see any reason to buy Intel... now if I was going to be doing something that would require the extra power then yeah.

Yeah and I dont think there are any games out there that take full advantage of that extra power anyways. Thats my main reason right there.

My current rig is kinda sad to be honest. Bunch of hand me down parts form a friends old gaming PC that was given to me a year ago. My 1st gaming computer, it gets the job done tho. xD

Mine is 2 years old. By that time it was a beast. I can still run BF3 on highest and no lag. But its seeing wear and tear.

(The ram and power supply were not given to me, had to buy those on my own >_>)

I'm More fan of AMD+NVIDIA but ATI have better support for Linux based OSes. That configuration was more to demonstrate I wanna kickass second to none computer. :P

As for computers I never really had a good one if we don't count a workstation which I never tuched back in 90's. My current oldie is ragged down low spec low performance computer machine which I tuned as much as specs allow. Build with lower middle class HW back in 07 this guy have problems playing 10-bit 720p videos and I can forget about 1080 completely.
Yet because I instaled 512MB GPU I can afford to play some never games like I played Assasin's Creed 1 or I sometimes turn on Star Trek online (even on low detail if not in combat or mission). But it's kinda sad because I can't enjoy so many cool games.

EDIT:

I have 4 GB or ram. Overclocked Intel Duo to 3.3 and Club 3D Radeon HD 4870 1GB. I thought only buing ram but the piece of shit motherboard is DDr2. So i have to buy new motherboard along other things. Besides. Something will fail on my rig soon. Either the processor or the voltage box

@Lance. My future rig will cost around 400-600 euros. The price depends if I get new graphics or not. 1 GB up to 2 GB is enough. 3 to 4 is overkill and pointless.

MMMMM~~ Linux... thats some sexy stuff right there... very sexy indeed. I took a Linux OS course last semester. Spring... oh I loved the Terminal, that was so much fun~

I havnt touched it since tho. I need to get back into that.

I do not know what it is but games like Street fighter X Tekken and Skyrim for example, when AA is on my drivers will crash and I have to restart my PC because I get these funky video effects on my screen. It kinda bothers me, but I just make sure AA is turned off and I have no problems... ill upgrade one of these days, after I graduate next summer >_>
