That should help train your reflexes, but if you aim to defeat EoSD, I think using EoSD's practice mode would be a better choice.
It could help you to get used to the pattern and tempo in each stage. Danmaku is partially about memorization after all.

I think if I trained my reflexes, I wouldn't get into most of the positions I get into, where I have to lose a life... Thanks for you're advise.
