Both the stage 6 themes, Starry Sky of Small Desires and True Administrator. The first because you can focus to it. The second because it just feels good when playing against Miko. It has a good kind of epic battle feel to it.How about Old Yuanshen ? The pace is very fast and it also gives a 'wicked' feel by its rhythm. It suits well with Seiga's natures, I suppose.

On UFO, what are the alien ships for? Its definitely harder than TD and SA. Got to like stage 4. Reimu again. Combination of 3 specific-colored UFOs grants you a specific prize. When in doubt, wiki provides answer : http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Undefined_Fantastic_Object/Gameplay
and yeah, UFO is actually harder than SA. Though SA is more horrible in technical-sense and very unforgiving.
Random tips: As long as it's not UFO, Marisa is broken. If you prefer radical strength + radical speed over homing + precision, then Marisa is your answer.

Short topic for today, What is your favorite theme in TD and why ? Additional point : Feel free to post the best remix (in your opinion) of said theme.
Favorite theme in TD, eh? Kinda tied between Old Yuanxian and Futatsuiwa from Sado. Those really give a nice vibe and suit each characters. Still, if I could be honest I feel the other themes especially bosses' themes from Ten Desires are lacking something to make it memorable. Like the feel or tension. It could be just me though.

EDIT: Somehow I started to suck at TD on normal but can do it on hard and lunatic. Cleared with everyone on easy though. Tried SA and UFO on easy. For SA, I got to stage 6 before taking a hit. Learned that a cat is NOT fine. It's not too hard though. Played with Reimu+Suika.

Started to suck on normal but can do hard and lunatic? Perhaps... It's because when you're playing on normal you tend to focus more on scoring points than survival?
Something like that happened to me. When playing on normal I tend to disregard the survival to graze and raise the value points more and it ends up cost me a life or more.
The cat... ORIN! IF I SEE THAT ORIN ONE MORE TIME....!!
Those UFOs are your ticket to break the game. Collecting Red UFOs and destroying it will give you a fragment for extra life, Green UFOs will give you a fragment for bomb, Blue UFOs give biggest score multiplier, Flashing/multicolored UFOs give multiplier, swapping power items to point items vice versa also another multicolor UFO token.
If you time it right, you could get maximum life and bomb by stage 3/4 with those UFOs.

Short topic for today, What is your favorite theme in TD and why ? Mamizou Futatsuiwa's Theme (Futatsuiwa from Sado)! It fits her perfectly, even though I haven't 1cc-ed TD yet... It fits the idea that she is a Racoon that can transform. ^^
I don't think I have any other reason than that...

Maybe the lack of feel and tension has something to do with ZUN's initial decision to trim the game's difficulty ? It's actually a wise move considering the bosses ain't as intimidating as in the previous installments, it wouldn't sound right for those non-intense bosses to have intimidating themes either. For example, we can use Miko; as a 6th boss, she lacks the intimidation. Her spell-cards are mostly slow-paced, allowing the player to take a deep breath while in-game. It's also supported with True Administrator that does sound more 'ire' than any other 6th bosses' theme.
That obviously contradicted to what I feel when facing Byakuren, she is pretty much my worst partner up until now. Cosmic Mind with its epic tune (sounds more like messiah's to me) combined with the barrage of fast, thick, and well-patterned danmakus of Byakuren, is enough to make her the worst. I spent all of my life points to defeat her, it's just so worth it.

Mamizou Futatsuiwa's Theme (Futatsuiwa from Sado)! Good choice.
In order to finish TD, you need to formulate a good plan beforehand. You cannot do any sparta-like movements in it unless you're very experienced and confident. Life points are crucial in Touhou, and there is no other way to obtain it without farming the purple orbs in TD. That's what you need to think; think how you can obtain as many purple orbs as possible without sacrificing any (unnecessary) life points in return.

I think I developed a fondness of drinking beer, it really gives a crucial boost to my inspiration~
Though I want to start making the tables to regulate my drinking habits hahaha, don't worry I only drank those once in a while ^__^

Nevermind. She's in UFO and I have yet to get to Stage 4 in it...

Try playing any extra stage while drunk.....It's like you're on shrooms.

When I tried to talk during that condition it might sound like a drunk person but really it's more like someone who needs a bit of rest~
I'll probably try it directly after drinking a can of beer few weeks later, I want to cut off my alcohol consumption for now =)

If you're aiming to just finish the game and get the endings, don't be greedy at farming graze and blue orbs. Go for pink and Green orbs instead for extra lives and bombs. Just play to survive, I believe if you don't really insist on scoring TD will be easier to go through.

Legend of the Great Gods feels too modern for Futo. I'd like to have her with more classical Japanese music because she's fairly old fashioned.

That would be exactly it. I've cleared all the spell cards and stages individually and had no problem with it before trying those modes. Now I try to miss as little as possible and get all the collectables. Neither of which matter to me, to the point of slightly unnecessary risk to get, on any other mode or game. Result: Running into bullets to stay under boss or get to life piece.

I figured they would do as much just from messing around with them in-game. Going to have to try out some color combos now.
Ideally both would be great. I like playing with both just because it provides a different challenge.
What do you mean by horrible in a technical sense?

I suggest you to aim for red color only. It's not that I doubt of your skill, but it's always more preferable to play as safe as possible, considering it's UFO that we're talking about.
Actually, I have a lot of rants regarding SA, but one of the most annoying points is the bomb system. I do realize it has a good concept, just poor in execution (that, or ZUN was really intending to make SA as unforgiving as possible). Different from its predecessors, adapting the similar system as MoF (which is also bad in my opinion), SA implements bomb variations (both in type and executions) within each playable characters, but we can just summarize all of the bombs in two words : "Mostly useless". It's not even good to clear the screen. And just like MoF, it reduces your power, which is very fatal for long-duration battle.
I admit that I'm not really a pro in Touhou. At the most parts, I still rely on bombs to clear the screen, giving me the chance to breath, and planning my later movements. SA doesn't allow me to do that, the best I could achieve is reaching Okuu.
So yeah, it's more into my own personal opinion. Your mileage may vary.

The Reimu+Suika bomb I found amazingly useless, can't say on the others quite yet. In general, I always use them in the middle of the stage when there are just too many bullets on screen. Very rarely do I use them against bosses. Why would they reduce your power? It feels like a double penalty for using a bomb. Okuu is as far as I got as well.
The different combinations of powers/characters more so in SA than UFO is something Shanghai Alice should keep. From a strategy perspective I like having options.

It's not bomb enough if what it can do best is to clear small area around you within 1 second.
It's okay for one installment being harder than the others, but ridiculously hard is one different story.
I suppose Bomb system in SA is meant to be the improvement of MoF's. If you haven't tried MoF, you could just spam bombs to win the game (surely it does reduce your power, but there is no need to care much unless you're in Kanako's final spellcard), it's broken in so many levels. That being said, the overall system in MoF and SA were criticized, for a good reason that is.

Why does this game remind me of that ridiculously hard game with the vibe of "OMG THE PLATFORMS ARE KILLING ME" plus its main character being as fragile as the one in Spelunker.
