Modern age virgins aren't extinct, look at who your talking too. :)
A lot of factors go into not being brave enough for sex; for instance are you afraid you won't please her/him? Or do you feel your "inadequate" down there? If your partner tells you "no" then respect your partner's wishes.
If your partner loves you, then he/she will tell you when their ready.
