Spoiler:
Bad idea, especially as it possibly allows someone to wait until round 3 and claim three girls from the finally unbanned series with just one post.
-The number of people who claim from only one series is negligible.
-The ban is on popular series. He would surely face competition.

True, but the possibility is still there. And it doesn't have to be one series, it can be three separate series that get unbanned in round 3. Not the only problem with this idea either, just the one that I first thought of.
Well, doesn't matter much to me and my VN-only choices. I just don't like any kind of discrimination in the game, I guess. Just my opinion, but I think it should stay neutral and let people make their own choices without any such silly limitations.

I do agree with you there good sir. This game has been becoming a bit staler since I've started playing the waifu game.
I do like the idea of doing a ban on popular series, like the ones listed.
(Just don't make Waar ban iM@S due to the fact that the only ones that really wed iM@S characters are you, me, Circe, and Kaimax. *Laugh*)
As to add to the idea of this and to try mix things up, how about no re-claims PERIOD until the second or third round?
I find it that this would be a good idea due to the fact that people, for the most part, do re-claims on the first round and people have to actually have wait and hope that no one actually claims their first re-claim character.
I feel like would mix things up just a little bit more than usual. This would also probably cause some butt-hurt if someone DOES take their re-claim first round (e.g. you take Chihaya from me first round or visa versa and I take Hibiki from you first round, etc.)
What do you guys think? This could go either way... :\

Worst idea ever. Waar's done something similar once. Luckily that time we had a reclaim round, but first round did not allow any previously claimed waifu. I was pretty close to just having to wait for the 2nd round...

Second, you wait, til I get my 6th claim, I'm gonna make you regret saying those words, Saka.

Getting more players is easy, just have to lower the post count minimum. :P

I think it just needs some more hype, I think I remember the waifu game being on front page on the last one.

The only reason I remembered this time was because I just happened to lurk back in here and see the Game 8 Discussion Thread about a week or so before it started. Exposure on the rest of the site (especially on the front page) is crucial. Otherwise, it doesn't matter what you do to the game 'cause no one's going to know about it in the first place.
Side note: I'm pretty pissed for forgetting to check to see if the game had started yesterday. Otherwise I probably would've gotten Rin like I had to planned to.

I think we should sticky a big red warning about IB since most new users get too butthurt and never come back.

But I always try to give a warning when I post in M&G threads.

Same here with M&G threads. But by people getting ripped apart in IB, they leave with a bad taste in their mouth and may spread negative rep about our forum community about how we're just huge assholes. I'm sure I'm taking that train of thought too far though.
I guess I have to agree with the other posts. Just cover the next game with pretty colors and glitter and leave it on the front page.

Not too much glitter, though. I don't want it to sparkle like a gay vampire.

Good point. I did not realize what kind of demographic that would bring Fakku!.

Not saying it's a good way to do this, just that it's an easy one. Well, it really depends on the actual number. Hard to find a good balance between having more players and keeping the problematic ones out.

The reclaim during 2nd-3rd round idea wont work unless I allow people to reclaim a day or so in advance, and even then the majority of users wont be able to pick who they wish to reclaim due to who's been selected already in previous rounds. It's problematic and troublesome to explain to new players as well.
Banning popular series might be a good idea but I would have to do a lotto to pick which series were banned: say I take a list of 20 series that I believe to be the most popular, and then draw a lotto for 10 of them to be banned. It would leave some of you feeling dissatisfied but it might spice things up for the older players. The lotto/stream idea for reclaims this time was good and I think Ill probably use it again but so far the only real things I've seen suggested that I will try are more publicity and fewer reclaims(minimum of 10).
Keep throwing out ideas guys, I do appreciate any effort you guys give, helps me out a ton. One thing to remember when thinking of new things: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”, the best idea are simple and easy to implement. Don't worry about other users disliking your ideas, I do my best to weed out any unfair ideas but don't mind hearing them as they may inspire me to other ideas that may be more fair.
