Waifu Game 8: Chat Thread.

I could get behind the waiting 24 hours between claims.

As to the banning certain popular series I don't think it'd help the issue of drawing more people and keeping the ones already here. You might create more tension for the ones left, or just create a 5th round kind of atmosphere where the favorites aren't available. Might end up having people figuring they can't even have a shot at their favs so no point jumping in. I'd just be worried about it having a negative effect.

If I understand "24 hours between claims" properly- that means that if 50 people were playing the waifu game- each round would last 50 days.

5 rounds of 50 days would be more than half a year before anyone can get their five waifus.


If I misunderstood, I don't really see how that has any relevance whatsoever- since each player can only claim 1 waifu per round (bonus 6th waifu exempt), with the first three rounds being a week, which is 168 hours.

He means the people that wait til round 3 and make 3 claims instead of making all 3 at once the have to do it over the course of 3 days.....which is pretty dumb seeing as it would penalize those who got a late start as if losing their potential claims wasnt bad enough now you want them to have to wait?

The 24 hour wait period rule doesnt make a whole bunch of sense unless I too am misunderstanding it. I think jack has it wrong but it still don't see a point, there's already a week long wait time for most and only a few people jump into the game mid way through so the 24 wait would affect too few users.

One of the few things I've learned in my time running this game and playing others is when you've played something enough one of the better ways to keep it interesting is to increase the difficulty(like beating pokemon with the first 6 pokemon you catch), if someone has a different idea which will increase the difficulty for existing players in the game feel free to suggest it but so far the series restrictions is the best idea I've seen.

You could go off of that example you did with pokemon. If you choose someone from one series, you have to chose someone else from that series for the rest of the game? Just a suggestion.

The hell? The only series with that many girls is Tohou.

Combined with my series restriction idea, it could make the next Waifu game one helluva bloodbath.

Its not even possible, if multiple people took girls from the same series they could not all be restricted to that rule because they would be out of girls to pick from after round 2.

What if you did 1 girl per series per round for everyone. Essentially, I'm saying If I took Asuka Soryu in the first round, nobody else in the game could pick Rei Ayanami or Misato or any other girl from evangelion until round 2 starts.

This would create a lot of "favorites" in later rounds of the game, on the other hand it would create a decent amount of invalid claims. Anyways, that's my suggestion. Let me know if it doesn't make sense.

With series that have more than five girls (which is a lot)- that is severely limiting.

I understand it is limiting (somewhat, it is rare that all the girls in a show are popular), but the other plan of just eliminating some series from being picked is also very limiting.

How about votes for which girl to ban (or maybe which round to ban those girls in)?
