So I was playing story mode in BlazBlue: CSEX when I came across the lines above.
inb4: "Just be grateful we get anything localized at all"
TL;DR - People suck. I hate the faggoty translations we get in Japanese games.

What if that was exactly what the character said in the Japanese version?Then I'd have to blame ArcSys for having bad taste.
I guarantee you it doesn't translate to that though. I had the Japanese dub on and the words "pwn3d" and "n00b" were never spoken.

you know, I have learned that it is a translators job to not only directly translate the text, but to change it to something that would be best suited for the new audience. So even with it not being a direct translation the translator thought that given what was said that this translation would be best for the target audience

Even though the translator chose to translate it as that because it's something we're familiar with, it doesn't change that it's cringey to read, even if it was originally English it would be. Do people still say that word?

Why do you think its usually called Localizing instead of just translating? Because in addition to the obvious language barrier there are cultural aspects that wouldn't make sense to people of other countries. Things like slang words such as n00b. The people localizing it see what the character is like and give us the "American" version of that character. They do keep in mind the original essence of the character it is simply put into the culture of the target country. On another note, why are so pissed anyways?

Sorry man, this is just an issue that really irritates me.
Anyways, that's what I'm against. I don't want the "American" version of a character. I guess I want translation instead of localization. Accurate translations that aren't heavily localized.
