I actually like the spicing up, thank you very much... keeping too accurate is what caused shows like Power Rangers Samurai to bomb, because there are several things in the language and context that wouldn't make sense to outsiders/Westerners.

FUCK YOU SON. I DON'T EVEN GET TO PLAY MY FAVORITE FIGHTING GAME IN ENGLISH AT ALL. SUCK IT UP. WHAT'S THIS FAVORITE FIGHTING GAME YOU SPEAK OF?
MELTY BLOOD SON. CURRENT CODE ONLY HAS LIKE, 9% OF THE WIN QUOTES TRANSLATED. NOT THAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON TO PLAY IT.

you know, I have learned that it is a translators job to not only directly translate the text, but to change it to something that would be best suited for the new audience. So even with it not being a direct translation the translator thought that given what was said that this translation would be best for the target audienceTranslators are not editors.

It's their job to give me as close to the original experience as possible. They're altering the original character when they add unnecessary shit like "n00b". They shouldn't have any fucking right to do that. They didn't make the game so they shouldn't have any right to fuck with it. I don't give a shit about what they think is best for the target audience. I care about what the characters are actually supposed to be like. I understand that some liberties must be taken but there should be a limit or something. It is your job to shut the fuck up and be thankful someone translated it for free in the first place, not constantly bitch about their personal taste. If you want a professional translation go hire a fucking professional, pay for it yourself.

I'm pretty sure people don't translate games like BlazBlue for free. I'm not talking about fan translated stuff here. I do pay money for these games so there's nothing wrong with me wanting a decent translation.

Uh, if it includes translations like that I can almost guarantee it was done for free or for next to nothing.

I remember when they added "you're the man now dog" or something like that in the first localized Phoenix Wright game. People though it was silly but funny and no one though much of it, but I can see why having too much of these "quirky" and "lol so randumb XD" moments in games can ruin things.
Maybe if it was some joke that the Japanese would get(references to comedians, shows, etc. etc.) it would be completely fine, otherwise it has to be subtle and in small amounts.

It's the official translation of a popular Japanese fighting game. Somebody is getting paid for their work.

No but seriously, "pwn3d" is the kind of shit you hear 10 year old faggots say on Xbox Live. I have a valid reasons for not wanting faggotry in my games.

I had a witty response, and then the Brazzers banner at the bottom showed a girl fart a cumshot out of her asshole.
I became fascinated by it and promptly forgot what i was going to write.
But yea, i guess what ya said makes sense.
