Its a hassle to Rule the world
Reasons:
1. You wont get enough time to watch Anime
2. Wont get enough time to read manga
3. wont get enough time to go online
and its just a pain to think about solving the worlds problems while your busy with the convention coming up.

well i don't really see an otaku ruling the world because my general definition of an otaku is someone who is usually out of shape, and their knowledge wouldn't that great for that matter. But unless the world went into some terminal shock and everyone went into their home, and stayed their for the rest of their lives.

Possible chance that the world will be destroyed before someone can manage to rule all of it. (Heck, the world is to the point to where we can blow ourselves up in a matter of minutes.)

Will otakus rule the world one day? Pretty unlikely. Otakus may increase in number but in terms of "rule", nah. Real otakus know what happens to people who "rule" the world in anime/manga, eventually a hero/mass of peeps comes and kicks the ruler's ass.

Although, not exactly otaku, some people who used to avidly likes kid's entertainment from Japan. We don't know, some politicians in Japan are probably one of them. For now, high world circulation of Japanese anime have only begun now, those probably rulers are in making now.
