Well I'm not going to kid you, it's scary as hell being your own boss. If anything goes wrong the only person I have to blame is myself. At the same time I've watched almost half my friends lose their jobs in the current economic troubles, which is something I don't have to worry about. I've also got to enjoy the past 7 years selling hentai for a living and getting the chance to meet and hang out with some of the biggest names in the anime industry. Going into business for yourself is a great risk, but at the same time it can bring some pretty great rewards.I hope to one day open a business myself, though I do not know what it will be for yet. Nevertheless the advice you'd have to offer would be valuable. It is indeed a great responsibility but I'm someone willing to learn through trial and error, If I haven't learned already.
You are a most welcome addition to Fakku! I hope you get the chance to make many friends here and form many bonds with them. I also hope I can be one of them.

Lol, Minnesota is located in the middle of nowhere.
@Filthy Smut Peddler: I'm already appreciating your entrance into FAKKU! from your first post, and it's great to have someone who is knowledgable in the business aspect of Japanese goods and "fine art". Perhaps you should take some classes in your local community college as a visiting student for basic business courses, as I assume you are a sole proprietorship (single owner, unlimited liability). Classes like Financial Accounting, Managerial Accouting, Business Organization, and Marketing are the classes I recommend if you haven't taken them already.
I also find it interesting that there is a niche market for doujinshis (I mean, most of us get our stuff for free), but I'm glad someone's doing it. You should probably talk to Jacob, our fearless leader and site admin, and get affliated with him for a greater target market.
