Funimation

I was totally unaware of few things until today.

For one, it was the fact that they air anime for free with ADs inserted, that was introduced to me like a few months ago.

But today, I just learned that, they actually can stay up to speed with anime releases. Fuck. Do they even have licenses or what? XD

Just Look!

Blessing of Campanella

First 2 episodes

Legend of the Legendary Heroes

First 6 episodes

That Ookami-san gal that looks like taiga but grown up and sexier.

First 4 episodes

And then.. there's even Sacred Blacksmith

all 12 episodes.

If this keeps up I might have no choice but start to give Funimation my attention. I'm confused, I'm used to American companies being lazy and getting anime out a year or even more later. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO

My friend even mentioned that there is a Japan Simulcast it tells you when it releases new episode from anime.

So yeah.. comments from would be appreciated.

Anyone more knowledgeable about what is Funimation's plans?

I'm pretty sure they have been showing anime for free for ages. I remember watching "Welcome to the NHK" & "Ghost Hunt" over a year ago before they restricted to region only and it is still restricted.

When I watched it they didn't show any adverts apart from advertizing the anime they were showing.

I've been using these guys for a while now. I'm pretty sure they are legit. They have their own Youtube Channel where they upload tons full anime episodes and I think they where at Los Angeles' Anime Expo giving out free stuff.

Wow. That's actually pretty cool that they did that.

I don't like streaming though. It's a pain to wait for it to load and then if you want to watch again you load it again.

The fact that they saved One Piece from utter humiliation from 4kids has earned them my respect. FOREVER.

It is legit, and like Age said, they've been doing it for a while. The streaming quality isn't all that bad, and they host both subbed/dubbed versions. I thought it was pretty generous of them to do that... That way, people can give the dubs a sort of "test run" before buying the DVDs.

It sucks that their distro rights only seem to cover NA though. :\

Funimation pisses me off a bit the stuff I really want to see they aren't selling it in the uk & some stuff appears to be never coming over like One Piece, Dragonball Z, Welcome to the NHK.

One Piece seems to be on rarely on tv probally because of poor ratings, but how do they expect to get the ratings up if they don't advertize the fact that it is going to be on and show it regularly.

I don't buy DVD's anymore pay enough for cable and internet so I stream a whole series via Funimation and others as well as NetFlix

That!

And I hope to get some "Funimation shows" gets licensed in Sweden, the only thing that gets licensed here are "Kids" shows or should I say stuff they can advertise to kids like Bayblade, Pokemon, Sailor moon, Digimon, and alike nowadays. Not that I have anything against Sailor moon And Pokemon except for when they dub em to Swedish... gah.

It was better in the 80-tis in sweden, whit shows like Cyborg 009, Blue Noah, Genshi Shonen Ryuu, Sandybell and other good stuff.
