I read it for both, but hentai with better art grabs me more.

Who the FUCK reads/watches hentai for the goddamn plot? Really now. REALLY! -_-;

I do..if the art is great but the plot is just "the characters are having sex" with no context or story, it's nothing special.

Proper story is something that seems to be a lost art...

It would be grat if have good plot and art

to be honest I have to say both I mean yeah it can have a good plot but if the art isn't good then it just don't get my attention, same goes for vise versa but sometimes I give it a shot if it has a bad plot and/ or bad art as long as it's not like looking at stick figures *blech* and to Demotivated I agree with what you said to what Akemi Mokoto wrote on

because without a good plot to me it's like watching well regular porn and we all know how that is with the bad acting and plot, at least with hentai it's animated and can have a chance to catch the viewer's eye

Though both are really important, I'm going to have to go with plot.

I'd rather read a mediocre vanilla than an NTR any day.

This is actually a tough one to give a direct answer to.
I've seen works that have had great art but the story sucked or was non existent.
Then again, I seer others where the art was bad but the story was fantastic.

Personally, I think the two go hand in hand. You've got to have an equal balance of both to have good hentai.

I think Webknight sort of says it best. There's the superficial side of me that's only interested in the art, be it sexually pleasing or simply generally aesthetically pleasing - but I still find myself interested in the writing and the plot, and if it's of poor quality or seems too flimsy, it's hard for me to enjoy or appreciate the work as a whole. Really, a good mixture of both together is where it's at. It's too difficult to specify one that I feel is more significant.

I actually am more interested on the art since I tend to draw and Fakku is a great place to study the various ways to draw manga. But I consider that both are great importance since without the both of them working together everything would be boring, like the Anime Kingdom, looks better in it's Anime format but sucks on the CGi

Its porn. You watch it BECAUSE its porn. If you want a good story, go read a book. Hentai is primarily a visual media, so art is obviously the determining factor. The only other strong determining factor is fetish. I do not consider "extended foreplay or teasing" as a storyline. Its just what it is people, the good stuff before the good stuff. Practically all the porn out there doesn't have storyline anyway, so I don't know why this is even being debated.

I mean, this "storyline" most of what you people are talking about is just what to lovers (or not lovers, depending on fetish) say to each other before the action. Of course it can be sexy and contribute to the overall work, but its certainly not of any caliber to be called a plot. Its less of a story and more of just a setting. I could understand one's interest in a storyline if these things had more to them, but lets be honest. The majority of doujins out there are hardly longer than 30 pages, with 75% of them usually dedicated to sex. Sex is even more dominant in hentai. Most hentai, however, are low budget, where the vast majority of the budget goes toward animation. Barely any plot can be accomplished in either of these media. Then, there is H-manga. Those usually have the most "plot," but again, its just used as a link between each different chapter which just contains another sex scene. There are exceptions to all this, of course, but those aren't too common.

tl;dr: When I go into hentai, I usually don't go expecting fantastic gripping storyline. I go expecting my eyes to be as visually pleased as my dick.

Hard to answer this question if by plot they mean story line or tags cuz I really dont read if any of the plot contain stuff like NTR even though the art is absolutely gorgeous it'll just turn me off.

Art 99% of the time. Only with a plot I've ever heard of was Bible Black.

The most important thing in a doujin is art style, if you don't like a style you don't appreciate it.

i find plot important but over half the time i watch/read hentai for the art.

Well it is fucking porn. That's the whole point of PORN! SEX! Nobody with a working sex drive gives a shit about the plot of a porn. If you want plot, go watch Clannad: the after story. Don't expect much for a goddamn porn. Aki-sora had something there that I only noticed after I came to it 80,000 times.

I've gotta go with the plot
I mean sometimes the art looks like it was drawn by an angel , but it still doesn't give me a boner if the plot was shit
Of course it does make a difference if the plot was good
Awesome art + Awesome plot = awesome hentai

If the art looks good I'll check it out. If the story is crap then it's not worth continuing

Personally I look for both but it has to be the art that is the most important thing of all. The first Hentai manga I came across, Slut Girl, is a good example I think; plot not all that inspired but some hilarious dialogue and frankly brilliant art (both in terms of the sex parts and the awesome depictions of Satoru) is why it doesn't matter. It remains one of my favourite :)
