For a post that has lots of sources, it's fairly short and doesn't go into depth of what the problem is. All of it seems like fluff and pop psychology bullshit.

I'd say the way you intake media of any sorts is as relevant to the mental well being as the content watched. Complaining about the dangers of porn distracts from personal responsibility. Living a sedimentary lifestyle is more grievous to your mental and physical well being.


Feel free to disagree but I feel as if media and pop "science" isn't very welcoming or tolerant of male sexuality. They often see the worse of it, and imply that it might be the default state.

I'm not implying correlation = causation but countries that are less strict about allowing porn to flourish in a reasonable way (like no snuff or CP) tend to have lower rates of sexual violence, exhibitionism and child abuse.

I do think copious consumption of pornography in formative years can have a detrimental effect on people but not specifically in the sense that it makes people into rapists or whatever the OPs argument was. I consumed a lot of porn before I got into my first real relationship and it definitely caused some bad stuff I had to overcome.

In particular the unfamiliar feeling of sex compared to masturbating prevented me from being able to reliably maintain an erection or get pleasure from sex for a short while. If I didn't have such an amazing partner I could've totally been scarred for life. Part of it was definitely just virgin jitters but they were definitely greatly exacerbated by watching so much porn and seeing the act totally divorced from the fact that mentality plays a lot into having sex with someone else. Numbing yourself into a mental state where you only get aroused by chubby gyrau harem incest and try to hold your orgasm until the page makes having sex with an actual person more difficult.

But that's just how I experienced it. I jerked off a lot and it took a long time for me to develop the skills to have a proper relationship. Someone better adjusted at a younger age or who isn't jerking off 5 times a day in high school would probably be less affected.
