Any ERPers up in here?

One time I made an F-List account and then promptly forgot all associated information. Pretty sure I was drunk and horny in my dorm room at the time, but I cannot clearly remember. In the year or so since that point I have considered returning several times, but often hear read stories about people's experiences with the site and I recall from my previous perusing that there was (of course) a whole bunch of furry stuff that totally wasn't my bag.

So I decided that since I am here I might as well reach out to the folks on the Fakku forums regarding the topic of erotic role-playing. My experiences are limited to some stuff that I did with my ex-girlfriend on Neverwinter Nights but I would totally be down to get into this titillating form of fantasy cyber-sex once more. Not sure what you guys think about it or if anyone would be interested in getting something going, but here's me giving it a shot.

So has anyone had any good experiences with ERP communities such as F-List? Any potential partners for this kind of thing out there or at least recommendations on where to go to find one? Is asking this stuff going to put me on some sort of Writing subforum blacklist for being a weird pervert on a porn site forum? XD

Well we've had several users asking for this before but most of the RPers in Fakku don't write sexual scenes just for the sake of it. We did write some before though, when our respective RPs had them in virtue of plot and circumstances. Thus, I probably wouldn't call myself an ERPer and I probably wouldn't get down just to cyber. Though, there are rumerous RP sites for those things. Sometimes I feel like it's easiest to get into ERP through those anime MMORPGs where you can find the RP communities.

Honestly though, I'd still recommend RPing over ERPing, it's much more fun and adventurous, and if you get that little sexual stuff down the line it'll be so much more worth it. Not that I'm saying you should do it purely for the sake of lewds though.

Certainly I am not a newbie to the world of role-playing. I have my fun with my tabletop games and have done it in a handful of MMOs in the past. I am not averse to doing more than just sex either as character building is more fun then skin-hopping for a series of sex scenes would likely be. I just don't want to commit to some long term narrative I may not be invested in with strangers on the Internet. Doing short vignettes spanning a variety of settings just sounds fun to me at present and experimenting with sexual situations seems amusing as well simply because I have not really done it much in the past and there is certainly a wide variety of possibilities. I suppose they don't really need to be hyper sexual in nature, but leaving that as an avenue to explore would be interesting.

I am not really against being a normal Internet role-player with y'all, but I don't know how I'd do with forum based roleplaying as the format. Too slow paced. I've done it once or twice in the past but always ended up losing interest after about a week. Post length is an issue for me since I feel like you just end up dropping a massive wall of text in which you are essentially talking to yourself. I never did figure out how conversations are supposed to work on top of that.

I'm more interested in hour long plus bursts of back and forth type stuff with details of the setting and such hashed out beforehand. Coordinating with people is hard though. Also I don't have people to coordinate with.

As for MMOs, the last one I played and tried to roleplay in was the Final Fantasy one and damn me if that wasn't one of the most cringe inducing playerbases I have ever dealt with. Maybe I should just give up on finding other people and just write stuff for my own amusement. I've been toying with the idea of a Monster Hunter fan-fiction for a while now, but I do find myself getting bored writing things when I have to handle all of the characters. Or maybe I should just go lurk on the 4chan smut threads and fill requests for people because then I can do what I want and can still feel like someone else in involved even if they didn't really do anything but ask for a certain topic to be covered. Ah well, I'll figure it out.

I don't know about you, but I've long given up on back-to-back posting in forum threads. I do get the thing about wall of text and it can be annoying. That's kinda why we use Google documents and write in real time which has been smooth and fun so far. So it's easier to do conversation and whatnot.

In the end it's your call on what you wanna do, but if real life tabletop worked out for you before I'd say that's great.

Ah, a google doc sounds like a pretty good deal. That would work out quite well I reckon and solve the forum format problem quite elegantly.

My tabletop prospects have unfortunately dropped off significantly after college. I am currently trying to get some of my coworkers together for 5th ed D&D, but two of the three are total newbies and are turning out to be pretty unreliable while the girl who knows how to play doesn't really like me very much. Or at least I have convinced myself that she doesn't like me, which pretty much amounts to the same thing.

Yeah it does, that's how Descendants of Time RP was so successful around here. Back then I was using Ars Magica (to be a hipster and not dig into DnD) but while it started out rocky, I eventually figured out the mechanics that suited well. Then Campione RP came with slight tweaks and whatnot.

But yeah, that sucks with the newbies. I usually try to teach and help them but there are times when people have all kinds of weird excuses or just doesn't understand some things. Though my little group survived for a good 2 years, so I guess it won't be that bad for the times to come, it's hard to expand though.

I am curious though. Most of the users here are male, Pacifica included. Are those people you roleplay are of the opposite gender? Have you participated in an erotic roleplay where all of the participants are men?

It happens all the time.

Okay, well, most of the time.

You either learn to appreciate the complexity the female role is played with or you can't grasp the essence of role-playing and start feeling gay because you can't separate reality from fantasy.

I'm fine roleplaying female characters and don't really care what the sex or gender of other participants may be. I've never done anything particularly erotic with an all male group, but I don't see why it would matter especially with the added distance of the Internet. Face-to-face ERPing could be weird with a bunch of grown ass men, but immersion should theoretically be easier with just typing.

Also I am not against doing gay scenes or anything. That can be hot too. I don't identify as bisexual but the concept of man-on-man is not repulsive to me, there just aren't a lot of guys I find particularly sexually attractive in real life.

Thanks for the reply. I find it very challenging to pretend that I am a female or even write female characters for that matter. Personally, I prefer to write comedy because so few people write that.

My experience with ERPing/cybering is actually decently vast. I started on AIM during my teen years with people I met from RP chat rooms who were also into it, but it wasn't anything intense or long-lived. Eventually I stopped using AIM altogether and used video games.

Interestingly enough, I also did some ERPing on Neverwinter Nights, downloading the nude mods, and the hand mods that made it so your fists weren't blocks. That was kind of fun, but also not too long-lasting. The adult theme'd RP servers are some of the only ones that exist today, and many are specifically French, funny enough. Ever since Gamespy shut down though, you have to use alternate methods that allow you to connect to a peer-2-peer network so you can access servers, like NWNlist. Neverwinter Nights 2 also has a decent selection, but it's the less-optimized, though prettier cousin. I haven't used these for those purposes in almost a decade though.

After that, I kind of put ERPing on the back burner as my love for hentai manga and doujinshi consumed me, I came to FAKKU, and here we are... Until recently.

I actually got subbed to World of Warcraft by a friend this summer and started playing it legitimately for the first time. Naturally, being a literary-inclined individual, I created some characters on the more highly-populated RP servers, and there is a pretty active and diverse collection of people who ERP there, and since the game is now free up until a point, you can use it to RP with little investment besides the giant download. If you are a free account, there are some restrictions that you have to get around, but it's easy enough. Mainly with the download of a Roleplay addon that allows you to view custom RP profiles, you can read some pretty interesting people's characters or desire to RP certain settings or scenarios. Some of it can be cringe-worthy, as you stated, to most people. (I don't really care, I've outgrown the insecurities of finding things "cringy," especially being a hentai fan, it's kind of hard to judge others.) But if you can get passed that, there are many people who just want to ERP randomly, but there are also a lot of people who ERP really weird things you may never have thought of or wanted to think of before. Not that I mind, but some people might. Like RPing as futas, or animals, or desiring "bad ends" to their RPs where it ends in vore or slavery or things like that. It can get dark, but some people can be fairly normal too.

It's actually because I was doing this for a time that I learned of f-list, or made more aware of it at least, since many users link to their f-list profiles from the game's RP addon. It seemed to me that f-list is just a template, though allows customization, which is good. Whether or not "furries" use it are of little consequence since its purpose is really just to outline your fetishes (or your character's) more specifically in case anyone is interested in similar things. Then again, I only really dealt with it because it was included in people's RP profiles to give examples of things they like or don't like, which can be helpful when you're in an inn with 50 people and you're not sure what someone's into or not. If you decide to explore this further, I can give you a lot more advice, but that's the basic side of it.

Outside of that, I wouldn't know where to point you to find dedicated ERP communities other than Googling for them. You can find some pretty interesting places just by trying that and checking sites out, forum-based or real-time chats. The issue with easy to find and access real-time places is that you're really rolling the dice on what you'll find there. Sometimes you find the really talented RPers who are detailed, but other times you'll find the illiterate tweens exploring their sexuality, and of course that's a no-go. That's also where you find the simple casuals who just dip into RPing and barely use description or those who have very typical scenarios they want to act out, like high school setting or doctor-patient teacher-student roles, or taboo settings like mother-son stepdad-daughter, you name it. For some people, that's their thing though so I won't really judge what they do if they like it.

I think you're best trying to find a community that is account-based where users have profiles that are capable of being very descriptive and has good customization, linking to something like f-list, for example.

Lastly, you won't be blacklisted or mocked for such a thing (I won't mock you, at least). We may not be allowed to cyber here, but it's not exactly forbidden to talk about. I mean, this is an adult site, after all. There are much odder things to discuss, but I'm having trouble finding something that's so wrong that it wouldn't be up for discussion. I can't really think of anything. But that may be because I was a psych major and these things seem very natural to me. As long as you're not breaking the law, I suppose. Best of luck figuring it out.

"Cybering" is not allowed though I don't really mind it (not into it either). Then again is erotic roleplay considered 'cybering'? Personally, I would say no. It seems to be more elaborate and certainly takes more effort, especially when I need to pretend to be a woman!

Thanks for sharing your own personal experiences! I appreciate it most heartily! I too had some fun back in WoW when I was younger and played around with the roleplay addons that were offered back then. I never did any seriously lewd things on there other than a master-slave relationship with sexual overtones but had a bunch of fun roleplaying my different characters and greatly enjoyed the community. I don't feel like the time is right for returning to Azeroth, however, as my addiction was real and painful back in the day. MMOs are just not for me. Too addictive and time consuming. Sorry if I came off as a bit condescending to the FF14 community, but the glut of SAO ripoff avatars and cat-girls looking for barely literate lesbian roleplay made me very sad, especially in contrast to what I had found in WoW and NWN before that. I try to not be judgmental of others, but it happens.

I recovered an f-list account last night that I don't remember making. Apparently I used my primary throwaway email address one time to make an account but never activated it. I'll give it a shot over there and see what I can dig up. The format really is pleasing and I guess I can just seek out communities that interest me and leave the gay scat fetish furry stuff alone. Already I have found some nifty looking groups, I just need to post a few characters and get active in the community.

From what I've seen it's shyness from others. Some may see it as tough but a some encouragement does help!
