2D love. Does it really exist?

Alright, I will post a legitimate answer to the question (though I already voted on the poll.)

No, I havenæ fallen in love with a two dimensional character that is labelled "female." I also do not think that one should truly be able to "fall in love" with such a thing.

People "fall in love" with 2D characters only because it's a safe bet - you don't have to worry about the other person's feelings, them leaving you, or any of the difficulties that come with loving a real living, breathing person. It isn't really love. It's just a delusion brought on by loneliness and desperation.

Bulma is hot.

[The following is just my opinions and thoughts, and I don't mean to offend anyone with this. If I do, then I'm sorry.]

Being in love with a 2D character is nice and all, but, like all things, people have to realize that there should be limit to how much love you can give your two-dimensional "counterpart". Even though you can admire their form and how they act and all that, but how much will it take before they figure out the following...

1: Your "love" will never never be able to acknowledge your feelings or, for that matter, say your name (unless you just so happen to share the same name as one of the characters in the anime they are in, or you pay a lot of money for the voice actor/seiyuu who does the voice of your "love" to do it.)

2: You will never be able to embrace your 2D "love". You can buy all the dolls and posters and figurines you want...but does it feel the same as actually touching someone in real life? Nope...but If your fine with this this, then that's okay.

3. (If your love ever gets this serious) You will never be able to have sex with your "love". The only thing you'll be able to do is fap/schlick to an image of them and fantasize about them doing you. If that's your thing that's cool, but this is the main reason why I don't have a 2D waifu: I can't see myself having a serious relationship with someone that I can't (eventually) have sex with.

4. Your 2D love won't age, but you will. Take, for example, the girl in my my avatar, Toko (or Hilda) from Pokemon Black/White. According to many people, she's somewhere in her early teen's and that's the age she will remain forever. I, on the other hand, will continue to age and eventually die, so any kind of deep affection for her will be pointless. Besides, when I do kick the bucket, do you think Toko will be there to cry over the coffin that contains my body? No.

So, for you TL;DR people, it's okay to love a 2D character, but you shouldn't let it get too serious, because there will always be that one dimension that keeps you two apart.

i have some 2D loves, i used to love haruka from nogizaka haruka no himitsu, but then i fell for shiori from kami nomi zo shiru sekai. then i lastle went for miu from mashro iro symphony and wanna stay like that.

I wouldn't view 2D love as impossible, but I've never felt it at all.

I like 2D characters, but the way I feel is like if they existed I would marry them, so the 2D girl I feel that way about now would be Chie Satonaka from Persona 4

No.Sure there are some fictional characters i really like, but for me love is something that can only exist for a living, breathing human being.
