I am also curious as to what drew you into this. Was it more of a sudden thing, or was it something that just developed slowly over time and before you realized it you had it?

Well if you're actually being sincere, then I can at least comply. I guess it started a couple years back when I realized how crappy the world is and how meaningless my life was. I looked to hentai and such as an escape from reality. It started with me being attracted lustily to a hentai character. I then created a world and a persona to interact with this character for sexual purposes. My persona is Akihiro which is now the name I use for every username online. The world I created was a simple one where I was a teacher at a university and that hentai character was my girlfriend. Over time the girl changed from one to another until I settled on one that I truly did love. I then got more in depth with my fantasy world and put in a mother, an older sister, a younger sister, friends, and other specific things. Soon I started making the entire life of my persona from childbirth to the age of 22(birthday was last week). It also wasn't just a perfect world where I was always happy. I made conflict, drama, psychological issues, trust problems, murder, cheating, and lots of emotional pain. It just made sense to include these things as it seemed more realistic. Now things are absolutely perfect since overcoming hard trials leads to consistent happiness. So basically I started with just a horny lust for a character and then it soon built day-by-day into a comprehensive and profound alternate life for me. It's a place where I can relax and enjoy happiness. If I had to write a book about it, it'd be pretty long I think. So there's your answer, sorry for the huge wall of text.

Yeah well, it was not an easy thing to do to create an entire life from scratch. Lots of minor details are missing and I'm still filling in the blanks today.



Well I respect that you're mature and understanding enough to respect my situation. It is true that if your life is going great and fine then there is no need for escapism, but for a guy like me with lots of problems dealing with reality everyday gets to be too much and so I retreat to my own fantasies to relax. Who knows, maybe when I'm able to get my life straight, these fantasies of mine might become obsolete. Though that would be a waste.

Hrm. I'm not going to say what you are doing is unnatural. It's unique, but exploring into a fantasy world is a very common escape. I mean it's not uncommon to hear of people addicted to games like WoW or the like. Obsessed about one particular thing. It's not uncommon at all to want to escape.

But I also know that you won't gain anything either. Problems in your life don't just magically disappear because you have a fantasy world waiting for you. Time does nothing but offer opportunities. If you are willing to ignore them for something else, you will miss them, every time.

Of course the attractiveness in a fantasy world is that you will not get hurt. But pain is also necessary to really understand pleasure and happiness.

How you want to handle things does become what you want to do. But just try and make sure that when you look back on your life, that you don't regret your decisions. Truly regret them.

Well it's not like I don't understand all of this. I know that to gain happiness, one must go through trials and pain to earn it. My fantasy escape is merely something to ease my journey. I wouldn't say it's the main focus of my life but it is very important in helping me deal with stress and problems of reality. That's not to say I'll never face my problems and just live in my fantasy world forever. It's like driving a long drive. No one likes to drive monotonously for hours with nothing to do. So they listen to music or talk to friends to make the drive easier. That's basically what my fantasy does for me. It's something to make sure that I don't kill myself from stress and depression so that I'll be able to eventually attain happiness in this world. Does this make sense? Sorry if I'm not able to get my point across.
