Like the idea but I doubt it would work (as in - people taking notice).
Besides it would probably drain much 'life' from Random/IB ... for better or worse.

The people who are concerned with raising their "post-counts" would definitely disagree with your idea Gambler. Well, I'm not really that concerned with the Random section but I do support you with this plan. Imo, creating another sub-section under IB specifically for random video posting should be a much better plan. All the vids will be kept in one place, the posters will earn at least an increase to both their total topic and post-counts, and most importantly, other users would be able to spam all they want - no matter how many times they post, it wouldn't add on to their totals. (so it's all for our benefit) - I think :roll:

took a while but I'm glad some of you took notice of the real content i provided in this post, sometimes it just takes an opinion leader (like our faithful mod gamb) to get people talking.

Being the center of attention, rep, grats and other fun shit were simply unexpected side effects, weren't they ? :lol:


Anyways, two things my second beer got me thinking 'bout:

- Are them custom titles gone for good ? Been a while since they got taken down but was there an official admin press conference or somethin ?

- One big hole to throw every random movie into would quickly turn into a mess but seeing we have few major posters of this kind, maybe they should create personal IB topics ? Rbz, Krystel or Eranox come to mind ...
Though making people stick to IB would already be progress.

Probably start a new topic for threads all together (like what happened to Paranormal) instead of a thread, it will likely die fast, because with different videos in one thread.

When I registered to this forum back in June of last year, this place was a lot more active and intelligent. Even incoherent babbling was a fun place back in that time. Now everything seem so dumb (and that's putting it midly.) The quality of the topics in this forum has really gone down the toilet. Also, people are spamming a lot more often these days (check out Meet and Greet for some perfect examples).

Edit: Also, you're so right about lol.. how everything seems so dumb. Not all, but pretty much most of the topics. Lmao... but I still like it here. There are decent and genuine people such as yourself with good quality in post.

I've already attempted that, twice, last year just for future prep and again when it started becoming an issue and people ignored my first. I also went back to the last pages of IB (for other reasons) and noticed that someone had made a similar post back when Fakku was a mere 4 months old.

Either people just don't give a shit or they're under this impression that a large quantity of topics with people commenting a bit in each equates to building a relationship that one well thought out and discussed topic between users can create. Angelus Lapsus, you hold the very opinion expressed in the latter to my mind.

Nah, the topic was made for my internet cock, the matter of recent post quality was an old man bitching about the kids on his lawn.

I don't think anything is really going to be done but I would like to see some solutions. Until those of us who should be considered the main posters of said threads (you know who you are) come forward with opinions this is pretty much a moot point as no one will take action without hearing both sides of the story, that's how fakku works most of the time.

Like others, I do think the Random section is getting out of hand. Random vids of funny stuff gets old. And like the others, perhaps we oughta make a video section for shared vids that doesn't go towards post count.

As for less interesting topics, I dunno about that, and if you want interesting topics, the Serious section is the place to go, if you're willing to read a mountain of text.

@aznstoner: Angelus Lapsus barely posts around here anymore, but he did kinda personify the very problem(s) we're talking about.

In relation, I feel like a no post-count should be implemented at the Meet and Greet section. I frequent it at times in search of someone worthy to greet/welcome and most of what I see are the same bunch of users with just the same 'ol greeting-posts. *tsuyoshiro is probably the only one who really exerts some effort in greeting and conversing with the noobs. (he's got my admiration for that) 8)

If the people who frequently goes there are "sincere" in welcoming new members, they wouldn't mind my suggestion. But for those who are merely using that section to increase their post-counts would most likely no longer bother. (again, this is all for our benefit) - I guess :roll:

While I can't really remember the last time I visited the section (StaticChange is possibly the only recently registered user I'd be willing to greet) it still seems more like a post-farming ground than anything else.

@Rin - No one is saying that the section is bad. The thing is that 50% of those 'sincere' greetings wouldn't be there if they weren't raising people's post count. How many elders do you see frequently greeting people. 2? 3?

well, I don't really mind about your suggestion. Though that will be a loss :D . I frequent greet new member there although I don't really put some effort to do conversation there. Still I think it was kind of needed so new members will feel welcomed here.

well I just voiced my thoughts here, sorry if I misunderstood something.

I've suggested this very idea ages ago, but Raze responded to me through PMing that he didn't want new members feeling unwelcome by making the Meet&Greet section a no-pst-count section. He is aware that that section is a source of post-raising and that it might warrant a no-post-count, but for now he said that it's fine to leave it as is. I dunno, mabye it's time to repropose the idea?

I'm also all for reinstituting the memberlist, but that's an old issue that's not really necessary compared to the problems we have on our current hands.

Jacob is about to unveil a brand new fakku, he may be taking all these suggestions into consideration. I'd like to see what the man has to offer before making too many judgment calls, but yeah most of the suggestions made here seems to be things that would help, not hinder the community in any way.
