A life of a young girl is worth $300 in India.

This. Just Fucking This.
It's things like these that make one go the Chris Dorner route and start killing off corrupt one by one. What's worse is what the police assumed.
Quote taken from the article:
India’s police initially said that the rape and killing of the three young girls was “an accident”
an accident..... AN ACCIDENT!?!? There is no way for someone to 'accidentally' rape and murder someone, let alone three little girls. And how much are they offering just for information? Roughly $900 USD. $300 per girl.... I just give the fuck up.

Funny thing is if they actually did catch the people/person responsible for this, to get to trail would take years, the trail itself would take even more years, and the defence's argument that it was the girls own fault for their rape and murder, would probably be enough to get not guilty.
Its a horrible story, but theirs nothing you can do about it. The Culture there is ingrained deep and to change the beliefs of a country with over a billion people will take generations. And its also impossible to stop poverty.

We're talking about a developing country here. In other countries, you'll be luck if you're able to get any mean of compensation from the government.

Cultural differences make a big deal. We really can't do much about it right now. One can argue that if the government spends money on searching for the killers, it would be taking money away from any other things that might help others such as construction or social service.
It's a shame, but their culture is very different from others so the most you can really do is either donate money for charities to help out in India or go volunteer yourself. Grumbling about how people are pieces of shit won't do anything.

I'm pretty sure his point is, the op isn't going to do anything about it, just complain. That's all people seem to do (and make facebook pages about how it's wrong). People don't seem to consider actually doing something, no...

Depends, how realistic are your expectations, and how much effort are you willing to put into actually making a difference.

This. Also, I can't think of much that wouldn't get him killed or maimed

The only thing I question is how can they even consider this to be an accident? I don't really understand the relationship between the word accident, rape and murder.
Also the thing is what CAN we accomplish to actually make a change in a country over a billion people? Making a Facebook change won't really do much of anything nowadays since it has either little to medium effects on the ones seeing it and complaining about it just won't change things either. The only one that made a difference was the mother who protested with many people from the village to demand answers after police did nothing for 2 days.
Now the thing that bothers me were how they actually priced the life of 3 young girls, 900 dollars leading to the arrest of these criminals? Also giving 18,300 dollars to the family? If you ask me if that is OK then I would wholeheartedly disagree and also start rambling about the value of human life and how money plays absolutely no role when it involves your loved ones being missing or killed.
My personal opinion on this, I do find this to be very troublesome and I hate crime, but the real criminals in the country are the Indian government and the police force, seeing as how they treat cases with females with little or no care, unless it changes dramatically when someone like their mother and thousands of other villagers come and put a dent on them. India and it's people are trying very hard to change the country and trying to make it prosperous again by removing corrupted government and changing the flow of money. They have enough problems as it is, so if anybody wants to contribute then I suggest going to your government and help try to remove these governments and put people in that actually care about the people.
Is this a serious enough reply for you?
( I wish you could at least give a nice opening to the thread by typing information AND your opinion )

sigh... if you say in india like that i won't be surprise anymore. for you know not in India, in Africa that thing even more worse.
Most country like India, Africa and other Islamic country they not respect woman and girl.
"even everyone defend you(female) his lawyer will tell you guilty because you make him do that."

I definitely agree that most Islamic countries do not respect women's rights since religion in this case has been misinterpreted as the males being the higher being which clearly shouldn't be the case since Islam also strongly advocates on the freedom and rights of women, though we have different responsibilities as the opposite gender and consequences, it still does not prove women should be lower than men on any level of existence.
Although crime rates involving young females are high in lower standard countries around the world, shouldn't the government and their laws involve enforcing their protection on women?
