So. I have an interesting situation my friend is in. So he's been going out with this girl for two months or so, he really likes her, she is really into him (did I mention it was a long distance relationship?) and they both are pretty satisfied with each other.
However, recently his girlfriend caught him cheating on her.
Here's the kicker. His girlfriend made a fake myspace, and she added him on myspace, using the fake one, and she started flirting, and he flirted back, and him and the fake girl started 'going out'.
Was it really cheating? Because he cheated on his girlfriend, with his girlfriend.

If he didn't know then yes. It doesn't matter who he did it with or why because the intention to cheat was there.

Absolutely cheating.
I mean, if he dared to do it with her girlfriend's "alter-ego", he would still do it with anyone. Not reliable, and if his girlfriends still hasn't dump him, she should.
On other side, he's so easy, that he just fell for an imaginary person. Not listening her voice, or seeing pics. I mean, even a gay man can trick him? lol! he's really easy.

I think he fell for 'her' cause she was closer. he's still young (at least in the women department), so he doesn't know how much women will %$#&^*^*( you up.

He was cheating. You can excuse it as "Lawl he's young" or whatever, but the end fact is that he was cheating.
Though, it wouldn't have worked out anyways. His 'g/f' obviously didn't trust him at all.

It is cheating... in fact its hard to tell, he got seduced twice by the same woman, its more her fault than his since he might have fallen for the same personality twice, i mean that woman is retarded by seducing her boyfriend under a fake name :S its basically as if you had two replicas of the same woman and you had to choose -.-" well he did cheat, however i consider it his gf's fault

However, through her shitty move, she learned that her boyfriend would pull an even shittier move on her i.e. cheating.
She pulled a shit move, he pulled a shittier move. They should both move on and find someone else.

But your right since theres was doubt te shouldnt be together anyway lol

I'm not sure i get it. she caught him cheating, and then made the fakebook thing, or made thr thing to trap him?

So, let's say your GF finds a guy that is just like you, same jokes, same personality, and all. Will you still think its fine, since the guy was almost like you? I would be the hell pissed off, since it would make me feel that it's like anybody is fine as long as its like this, so its not like I'm special, but another one that would fit in her tastes.
Also, I don't think she would be so stupid to act like herself in the other account, surely she changed some of her characteristics so he wouldn't notice. I've done that before, not for a girlfriend, but to tease friends and all in online games. I wrote with bad orthography, pulled out jokes and stuff that I would never do. Then I go and talk to close friends and they don't even get a hint about it.

Look this is all based on the fact that the guy IS me, unless its that way it isnt related to the post because we are talking about another person, but in this story its twice the same person, she and she undercover. I think its her fault she wanted to test her boyfriends loyalty by seducing him with a fake account, but he basically fell for the same person even if she managed to hide her personality its still the same person(of course he is also fault i never said he wasnt but it all happened because she didnt trust him).
And of course i would be pissed if i did the same thing she did, but if i were him i would be even more pissed because she questioned my loyalty towards her while shes was trying to seduce me and i fell for the same person, that is the same as she telling me that she doesnt trust me. Like LostQuartet said, its the best if both search for a new partner

Despite the fact that it was her, he still had the intention if cheating in mind. One could probably debate on the fact that she did that; I think it's pretty cunning, but an interesting way to test his loyalty to her.

First thing, I definitely agree that he was cheating on her, unless he knew it was her, but I doubt that there is even a way to prove that.
Second, what his girlfriend did is also morally questionable. She lied to him about who she was with her "alter-ego" and then started to flirt with him through that identity. I have found that a long-distance relationship is nearly impossible to maintain, the methods of communicating over long distances are too impersonal, in my opinion, and without the ability to go out together and see each other in person feelings tend to diminish between the two people, at least in my experience, eventually the relationship will fail (This is quite common with the incoming freshman at my university a few months after school starts up). Now I don't know the specifics, but if she also lied about her fake persona being closer to this guy, then all other things being equal it is not too surprising that this happened, I think its only inevitable for this to happen, based on what I know and my own experiences/ personal knowledge.
Third, perhaps this was for the best, long-distance relationships tend to end up being a mess, like this one became, so ending it may have just been for the best after all. As I said above, it is inevitable for things like this to happen in a long-distance relationship. The distance and lack of personal contact leads either one of the two people involved to cheat or one of them to think the other is cheating resulting in accusations and a whole big mess of trouble. In my opinion, they're just not worth the incredible amount of effort they require, but that's just me.

Isnt it wrong to have doubt in his bf/gf in the first place? :/

Alright Katamari, you seriously can't be blaming the girl for him cheating.
Yes she is a bit of a psycho and a bitch for doing this. And very untrusting.
But she is not at fault for him cheating. That is his own discretion to do so.
You said you have to view it from his eyes. Alright. This is from his eyes.
He is currently in a relationship.
He then has some other girl, that he believes to be another girl, and starts a relationship with her.
It doesn't matter if it was her secretly. It doesn't matter if he fell for the same personality.
As far as he knew, he was actively pursuing another relationship while he was already in one.
That is cheating, and that is HIS own damn fault.
I'm not saying she's not wrong. But she's not wrong about his cheating.

I never said it wasnt his fault, but this isnt a mind reading contest, maybe he wouldnt have any reason to cheat if his gf wouldnt have given it to him. The fact that he fell for his own gf again because of her trap doesnt mean he would do it with other women too. And i already said that both are wrong but isnt it stupid to give him a reason to try to cheat on her? I mean thats retarded enough, and i still agree with LostQuartets statement that they shouldnt be in a relationship to begin with.
Edit: She couldve picked a better way to test his loyalty, not this one where its hard to say whos more at fault, she couldve picked some friend of her to try to seduce him if she wanted to know if he would resist.

*sighs* You're not very bright, are you Katamari?
"Maybe he wouldn't have had a reason to cheat if his g/f wouldn't have given him it."
No, that is called justification. We use it when we're at fault to try and make what we did not as bad.
See, no matter how you try to dice it, he willingly cheated on his g/f. There is NEVER a reason to cheat.
NEVER.
There is plenty of reason to break up with someone. But not to cheat. Cheating on someone is your own fucking fault.
And he cheated.
And to top it all off. You're actually saying that them doing the exact same thing, except by adding a whole other person makes it better?
Lawl, what?
