I think his friend probably already knows of your actions but He still thinks of you as a good friend.
He may think that maybe you'll repay them for being played.
In my book, if you and your friend are having a blast while you use them, then you're only half a douche.
But if you lead your friend around in a bullshit circle and you're the only ones who benefits from this, then you're not a douche,

I don't think you're a douche. Your friend could have easily said "No" and be done with it. He made the decision to drive you to work knowing that he lived 30 miles away from you. Even if you convinced him to take you to work after he arrived, he still made that decision. So in all fairness: I don't think you're that big a douche.
