Any advice for the Big Guys.
0
I'll come out and say it, I'm overweight, a good 100 pounds or so but I'm built pretty well, the weight distributed around, so I look big, but mostly am big everywhere. I'm trying to lose it, going to weight watchers and such, but its a slow process.
So anyway, I'm just wondering if any girls out there have advice on what I can/should do to get people to see me in a more than "just friends" material. Most girls that seem to accept me for how I am already have boyfriends/girlfriends, or don't want to be in a relationship at the time.
Another problem might be that I talk way to frigging much, but I'm trying to work on that.
If any girls out there have advice, or big guys that were in my place, let me know please?

Play sports. I lost a fuckton of weight wrestling and playing football.
Also this is a good reference site
Read it, it clear up some common misconceptions

Two things I cannot stress enough though, keep track of what you eat and how much exercise you did.
As for the friend zone, a lot of girls will say "personality" is what matters most, and that could be true, but looks do play a small role as well. So cut down your weight first and work on your conversation skills with a girl friend, until you get it down.

For the talking part, sometimes that is good, and sometimes that's bad. That goes according to the kind of girl you are hanging with.
...and I can't think of anything else. Like 90% of the girls I know will take your ass as a most relevant factor to consider dating you than your personality. Women love asses. At least, here is that way.

Well as a big guy loosing some weight i do have some advice.
1. Loosing weight is gonna be a somewhat tedious process but it should be worth it, dont try to speed things up or talk shortcuts.
2. Humans store body fate for those "in case moments", when you start to change eating habitats your body will be thinking your trying to starve it. As you eat healthier and do exercise your body will burn that extra fat for energy. So do a lot of exercise, like jogging, swimming and weightlifting.(although different running exercises are the best.)
edit*
google and youtube could be really usefull for looking at different exercises.

Build muscle..rather than think of weight as a number.
Cause muscle weighs twice as much as fat and it burns calories by just having them. Do some weight lifting and cardio, fix your diet and your appearance should even out by itself.

This is some good advice.
Aside that... do you have confidence problems? guy, that nick screams it. A first thing also should be change that line of thought. Love yourself, and don't call yourself a "nobodies"

This. Get ripped and/or toned man. You don't have to be a body builder just put that fat to good use. It's what I did when I used to play football and I have kept at it even since going to college. It'll boost your confidence around others too. As for the talking thing that just seems to be your personality, you want to find a girl who will accept that and not try to change you.
P.S. Almost forgot to mention, if you do decide to gain muscle, look up a lot of different cardio and lifting exercises. If not your muscles will eventually start to get used to the stuff and you will gain muscle and/or lose weight at a slower rate. You don't have to do anything drastic, just make sure to switch it up every so often.

sorry, I had to respond to this. I prefer the arms and shoulders to the ass.
its funny, my brother and I had a conversation once about first impressions. He said that women make up their minds of whether they will sleep with you or not within 5 or 10 seconds of meeting you. My brother is the suavest guy I know. Girls just fawn all over him without doing very much. To some degree I've put this theory to the test and I think there is actual truth to do this. HOWEVER, if a girl gets to know you better she can always change her mind. Personally, I think its all about attitude. You work on yourself, lose weight and all for yourself, and gain confidence for yourself and girls will flock to you. Yeah my brother is, albeit, a good looking dude, but he exudes so much confidence you can cut with a knife.

The other thing about losing weight for yourself should also help to increase your self confidence. I was overweight, but through working out, eating well, and the like I lost weight and gained confidence in myself. Although it hasn't been enough for me yet, though that is probably due to my tendency to talk a lot when I get nervous and other reasons.

Fact: Drinking cold water actually helps you to lost weight. When the cold water enters in your body, it consumes energy trying to recover the heat lost by the cold water.
Same as when you have so much cold and you shake, that's your body trying to regain heat by vibrating.
Hell, I want to live in some sort of glacier and get rid of this damn extra weigh.

While that may be true, the effect of it is so minimal, that it's barely even worth the effort. He'll probably use up maybe 1 or 2 more calories than normal doing this.
It's all about what you eat. Really, that makes the biggest difference. This is coming from someone who went from 210 to 149lbs.
Stop drinking anything but milk and water, and if you do drink milk, drink skim. Soda, juices, and all that other crap are just extra calories that don't fill you up. Diet sodas and drinks still count. Stop drinking them. They don't contain calories, but they will still slow down your metabolism. Always remember that calories aren't the only factor in the weight loss equation. If you like to drink, stop. When you get right down to it, alcohol is just fermented sugar, which leads to my next point.
Sugar is your greatest enemy. Candy, sweets, treats, all that crap. Stop eating it. Sugar will make you fat faster than anything else in your diet. Be aware that many products contain sugar you're not even aware of. "Low Fat", "Diet", and other foods with those fake healthy titles remove fat from a product to reduce calorie count, but then in turn add sugar to fix the taste. Don't buy into this crap. Sugar contains less calories than fat, which is why it's such an easy substitute to put in place of fat. The best way to find hidden sugar is to read the ingredients label. If a product contains High Fructose Corn Syrup, the most common sugar substitute in the U.S., then yes, that product has the sugar you want to avoid. Any kind of Corn Syrup or plain old sugar in the ingredient label of something that shouldn't have sugar, like say bread, is a red flag. Unfortunately for you, the U.S. food companies will sneak sugar into EVERYTHING, so you need to be vigilant about it. Read the ingredients label. High Fructose Corn Syrup is cheaper than sugar, so you'll see it pop up way more. It adds few calories for a lot of flavor, but again, calories aren't the sole factor in the equation.
As an additional note to no sugar, stop eating white bread. It's not good for you at all, and the stuff just becomes sugar inside your body anyway, and as I said before, sugar is your greatest enemy. If you're eating any kind of grain in general, then don't eat white grain. Eat whole wheat only.
And don't believe the packaging! Just because it says it is doesn't mean it really is. If a food is a certain percentage of something, they're allowed to claim that food X has Y value. An excellent example is Trans Fats, which are TERRIBLE for you. Products you eat out there may actually have Trans Fats despite the label saying 0. What most people don't know is that companies are legally allowed to round down the number to 0 if it falls below a certain value, and you're damn skippy they will do this. Said product could has 0 Trans Fat, but actually has .04 grams of Trans Fat per serving. If you ate a product like this that had 3 servings total, you just ate 1.2 grams of Trans Fat without knowing it. In that regard, companies can say that product X is whole grain, which in reality means it's 30% whole grain, and 70% of the bleached grain in white bread. Don't trust the Nutrition Facts alone. Read the ingredients label. There's all kinds of legal loopholes companies use to hide what's really in their product. To avoid said Trans Fat scenario, if you see a product with the ingredient "Partially Hydrogenated X" with X being some kind of oil, yet the label says 0 Trans Fat, they are lying to you.
Since I mentioned Trans Fats, I might as well mention other fats. First off, fat is good for you, as long as you're getting the right kind. Also, FAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAT! Yeah, sounds crazy, but it's true. Sugar is way worse of an enemy than fat. There are at least good fats, but all sugar is bad. Need proof? When the US hit it's "low fat" craze in the 80s and 90s, this is when obesity really went skyrocketing over here. There's many factors to this, but a large contributor is that people started switching from fat containing products, to more grain products, and with all the bleached grain going around in the US, that just meant people were intaking more sugar than ever before while being swindled to believe they were eating healthy because they cut out fat. Grain is also less filling that fat, meaning that people ate larger portions to compensate for the lack of fat to fill them up. Then there's our friendly food manufacturers who removed fat and replaced it with sugar to again trick people they were eating healthy.
Fat's biggest impact is going to be on your cholesterol, blood pressure, and heart, and those are the bad ones. Monosaturated and Polysaturated fats are the good ones. Nuts, fish, eggs, avocados, poultry, beef, and oils are the best sources of the good ones. In regards to oils, use Olive, Flaxseed, Canola, Almond, and Sesame Oil, as those are the best ones for you. The others are at your own discretion, but I will tell you now that the ones that are pure junk are any kind of "All Purpose Vegetable Oil" or some nonsense like that, as it's probably just cheap oil extracted from crappy sources like Cotton Seeds, or it's full of Partially Hydrogenated X. With beef, unless you're buying grass fed cow beef, just cut it out of your diet. What the cow eats affects how healthy the meat is from it, and with the kind of diets they feed mass produced beef cows, it's just terrible for you, and that's not even mentioning the hormones. And just cut out pork completely. Honestly, it's so hard to get a healthy slab or pork that it's not worth the trouble.
Saturated Fats should be kept to a minimum, but that doesn't mean you can't eat eggs. Eggs are good for you, and again, what the chicken eats affects the quality of the eggs, so chicken fed mush and chicken pieces will make bad tasting, unhealthy eggs. Eggland's Best are the best ones to go with.
All that being said, don't go hog wild. All fried foods contain Trans Fat and tons of Saturated Fat, so none of that, and everything in moderation.
As to how often you should eat, rather than 3 large meals a day, 5-6 small ones a day is better. First off there's shorter time periods between meals, meaning you'll get hungry less often, and second off your metabolism will be working for longer in the day since it has more to process throughout the day. Don't skip meals. It will slow down your metabolism, and you will stuff your face later on when a meal opportunity does come up. The best way to divide it up is to eat about every 4 hours, but again, don't go wild. 2,000, the average daily caloric intake, divided by 6 is 333.33, which means your ass is going to get wider if during each of those 6 meals you go up by even 100 calories.
Carbs should be eaten earlier in the day, as they burn the slowest, so you don't want them in you when you're going to bed. As the day winds down, focus on eating more high protein and fatty (the good kind) foods towards the end of the day.
Oh, and of course, the other half of the issue, exercise. First off, get the notion out of your head that exercise is to only burn calories. If that was the case, people would be in the gym for 5 hours burning off the excess. Exercising is to trigger chemical reactions and other processes in your body that contribute to losing weight, and burning fat. With that in mind, when someone says take the stairs vs. the elevator, it really means something. 10,000 steps daily can make the difference between two guys who eat the exact same diet. The one who takes 10,000 steps daily will be thinner, and healthier than the one who takes about 2,000. And this is basic walking we're talking here, not full blown running. And sitting is your worst enemy. Sitting is bad for you, seriously. Long sessions of it alone can make you fatter even if you have the same diet as someone else. Try to avoid sitting for long periods straight. Get up every 30 minutes and do push ups and sit ups, or take a stroll. If you're going to fap, fap standing up. If you find yourself absorbed in some great fap material that'll last a good while, stand up while you browse it. Standing alone has an impact because again, calories are not the only factor.
Now when people tell fatties to "Get on a treadmill!" they're wrong! Despite what most people would have you believe, strength training is better for weight loss than cardio. Why? Muscles use more calories than fat. If you have more muscles, then your body will burn more calories even an rest to fuel your extra muscle. Cardio's calorie burning boost will last the extent of the session and about 2-3 hours after you finish, while bigger muscles is a 24 hour thing. Your bigger muscles will always require extra calories, even while you sleep, vs. cardio's temporary boost. Cardio's purpose is to give you endurance, so don't discount it from your exercising.
Now people don't like to strength train to loose weight because they're obsessed with what the scale says. Muscle weights more than fat, so if you strength train, you will gain weight, and what weight you do lose in fat will be replaced with even more weight in muscle half the time. This can be a morale killer to people who've been working out for 4 weeks, and find they only went down 2lbs. What the mirror shows is more important than what the scale shows, remember that.
Yeah, it's a lot of info to read, there's still WAY more I could get into, and it's hard has hell to do all this, but if you really want to lose weight, you'll do it. And considering everyone on this board SHOULD be 18 and up, get out of your parent's place, and buy your own food, because "My parents do the grocery shopping." shouldn't be an excuse for someone 18 and up.
If you want a slim, easy version of the wall of text above, do this:
1.) Stop eating meat unless it's fish, and get protein from eggs
2.) Drink only water and skim milk
3.) Stop eating all sugars, and grain products that aren't 100% whole grain
4.) Stop eating fast food, snacks, and other junk food
5.) Read food labels, ESPECIALLY the ingredients
6.) Eat about 5-6 small meals a day, not 3 large ones (Remember, 2000/6 = 333.33)
7.) Go to the gym, and hit the weights, or do improvised strength training but don't forget to still run.
8.) Stop sitting on your ass so much, stand more often, walk to more places
9.) COUNT YOUR FREAKIN' CALORIES!
If you don't want it to be so strict, then you need to do your own research and homework on alternatives. If you're too lazy to do so, don't try to cheat the system or half ass it. Your consequence for laziness is having to be super strict with your dieting because you don't know enough information to avoid the pitfalls.

Very simple advice without ever having to change what you eat:
Eat less, move more. Change your lifestyle.
That's all there is to it. Whatever you're eating now, eat less of it, and just exercise and move more. Maintain this lifestyle and you won't gain back the weight. Unlike special diets, where if you drop it after losing the weight and go back to your old lifestyle, you'll gain it all back.

In regards to diets anyway, when you change your diet to loose weight, it must be a permanent change. A new diet is not just a "I'll do it till I drop the weight." thing. You must continue this new diet permanently. That's why you need to pick maintainable ones, and not fad diets.

AMEN!
from doing this I went from 220 to 175 in about 3 months, just that without the exercise part. Also I never touched eggs, they seems kinda too powerful, and the 6 daily meals. Next time I go into diet will take these into account too.
Also, the soda part. Leaving aside if it makes you gain weight, SODA IS FUKING POISON!! that shit fucks your bones, your kidneys and a lot more stuff!! and that goes for everybody, thin or fat!

People who don't eat meat will often discover when they got to the doctor that they're malnourished.
Cutting out all sugars is not a good idea. You're starving your body of one of its main sources of energy. You're basically telling him to starve his body.
This is the basis of the Atkins diet btw. You get rid of carbs and sugars, and basically starve your body while thinking you're eating plenty.
Eating 5-6 small meals a day does help over three meals a day, but not much.
It's a bit of trick, because the people who tend to eat 5-6 meals a day, are the people with already high metabolisms.
What helps the most with increasing metabolism, it exercise basically.
And Counting Calories can also be misleading. You think "Well this only has 100 calories." But if it's something that has virtually no nutrients you're screwing yourself over. And people will do this. They will see something that has 250 calories with a variety of the nutrients you need, and then something that looks similar for 100 calories that has little of the ones you need.
What you need to do is allocate calories to the foods you need. Basically, you need to make sure you have a balanced diet while staying within your allocated calories.
