Australia and laws on internet hentai?

Hello Im residing in Sydney aust. and I love this site well I used to love it I used to be on here about every day till I found out that hentai is illegal in Australia due to crappy internet laws saying sumthing about it promotes child porn. Now im not sure or not if this is all true but im about 90% sure that it is. What I want to know is how many australians or people of australia use this site. and if ur aust. and u do use this site have you ever downloaded doujinshi from the forums? I do it on occasion but I have to go to a net cafe to do it since I dont want to risk getting slammed in jail.

I live in Australia. And I've been actively downloading content off this site since last year round Christmas. They say this kinda crap about banning hentai and all, and I see none of it happen. Maybe I'm just ignorant of my surroundings. But I could really care about less what those politicians says all the way over in Canberra...

What are the laws or restrictions in america & the uk on hentai if any?

I fail to see how they could actually stop you from downloading/watching it, I find it stupid that they have to act like its a bad influence and prohibit you from enjoying it in your own free fucking time while its allowed in so many other countries.

If it were really THAT bad people around the world would've responded yet, its just another case of the government thinking they know best.

There are indecency laws in the US that depends on a state to state business and also federal. If you google it, there has been criminal prosecution for "child pornography" in the US for hentai. Other countries have even stricter laws.



I also agree with your attitude, but I warning you not to have a cavalier attitude about it. For example, it is common for workplace computers to be monitored, and also if you use a public computer. Depending the situation, you can be fired, banned, or even criminally prosecuted if they wanted to hurt you.

If they ban hentai in Australia, you better check your IP policy and history of cooperating with authorities. For music for example, some IP actively and readily cooperate with the RIAA and authorities to catch "pirates" while other IP's will only cooperate if they are required by law, it makes a HUGE difference.

Do your stuff at home for decency and common sense sakes. Also you wouldn't hurt to have a self destruct mechanism on your computer wiping out all incriminating evidence............just kidding......sort of......

You'll find a lot of countries who either don't completely outlaw it won't particularly tolerate hentai content, but most of the time there are far too many other things for them to be worrying about then going after hentai material and distribution.

Loli is pretty much on level with child porn. Many a japanese are stopped in customs at the airport for having it in their bags.

Which I've always found ironic because lolicon, by definition, isn't illegal in the United States. Even though it really is.

I don't know what the law is, but if you have loli you will be arrested. My guess is the law isn't clear - their isn't any thing definite enough to make a judgement on. It probably is laid out "Loli is okay, but anything with images of children nude or in sexual acts are illegal."

That very thing contradicts itself, and thats why it is such a weird process getting busted for it. I remeber the guy who did the translation for the Shuffle VN got arrested for loli, then they dropped the charges (for child porn) if he would plea guilty to tax evasion (which he was indeed guilty of). So he spent 1 and 1/2 years in jail because he had loli in his bag when trying to board a plane.

As far as I know lolicon is protected by the First Amendment BUT it has to pass the Miller Test. Well obviously almost all lolicon is obscene in nature, so it is going to fail the Miller Test immediately, and therefore be illegal. Only thing I could figure that would pass would be something like the Kodomo no Jikan manga. *shrugs*

What's the minimum age not to be a loli?

Cause I've always thought that any one 14 or above usualy doesn't look like a loli
and some times some one even in there 20's can look like a loli

There is real no definition because you can't actually take an age of a drawing, but the idea applies the same as the age of pornography in most countries, which is eighteen. The U.S. is only after people who are distributors. If you are casually downloading lolicon and other questionable hentai material within the United States chances are you will never get in trouble. Plus, the U.S. knows the difficulty in trying to argue how old the depiction is supposed to be so they only go after the depiction of pre-pubescents.

I think loli is apparently illegal in the UK, but my government has more important things to worry about and don't care.
