Best and worst of 2009
0
2009 has ended, and I'm sure many of you have seen good/horrible movies.
Name your one favorite movie of 2009, and the one you hated the most.
You know what the sad thing is, as the thread creator? I haven't watched a single movie that was released this year. Not one.
The only one I plan on eventually watching is Saw 6, for better or worse. I just want to know how this series is going to end. I see trailers for other movies and either they don't interest me or I get that "This movie looks like shit" kind of feeling.
*Edit*
Fuck it, just criticize as many movies as you want. Weather you liked them or hated them, as long as your talking about a movie that was released in 2009, then it's all good.

For the Most favorite :
maybe i will said "Inglorious Basterds", it contains a lot of jokes that i didn't expected before LoL.
Great plot from Quentin Tarantino and fantastic cast from "Christoph Waltz" are an elixir for our eyes. I really recommend it if you never watch it before..
For the least Favorite :
Transformers 2 ~ Revenge of the Fallen
I'm one of people that appreciate stories most, and T2 was a disappointment to me..
Surely, i think they can do better ...
But if you (only) wanna see some great CG, i recommend it to you
EDIT :
And i think SAW 6 isn't the end ..... Feel free to watch it,
in my opinion SAW 6 is good

Decent fun movies.
1) Inglorious Basterds (sic) - Brad Pitt. Wasn't half bad at all. Tarantino wanked all over the audience's face with his ending though. I think cinema has officially drove him over the deep end. This was like his first non-indie attempt, and he held his own for the most part. Brad Pitt was fun to watch.
2) Up in the Air - George Clooney. Definitely good. Witty, quick, but also sort of like... pseudo-indie. It's about this guy who spends most of his life going through airports. He is hired by companies to basically to fly all over the U.S. to fire people in the most humane way possible. Lmao. That being said, Clooney's character has intimacy problems.
3) The Hangover - Bradley Cooper, Ed Helm, and Zach Galifianakis. Was a decent comedy, but I am biased because I like bromance. The guys were fun to see together except they didn't strike me as people who could be best friends. It's kind of like that other movie that tried to be Superbad but it didn't work out so well. Anyway, Zach Galifianakis plays this fucking hilarious guy named Alan, and there's this scene about his wolf shirt and the science between the number of wolves on any given wolf shirt. Won the People's Choice Awards at the Golden Globes.
4) Zombieland - Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Bill Murray. Was loads of fun, formidable opponent of my personal favorite, Shaun of the Dead - but oddly, not really all that scary and graphic. Jesse Eisenberg has a list of 32-to-do's if ever zombies happened to take over the world, like doing cardio and ALWAYS checking the back seat, for starters.
5) Ong Bak 2. - Tony Jaa. Come on. Just watch this shit. Muay Thai is just so deliciously painful that even a bad storyline becomes epic in the face of THREE RETAKES of the same elbow-to-the-head shot. Not as classic as the first Ong Bak, but I can dig it.
I did experience two DO NOT WANTS in my quest for romance:

I know it's not. They said back when the 5th was done that they were planning on ending it at 7. The 7th's already in the works: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1477076/

Fave:
Zombieland - very funny movie, love it! Best comedy zombie movie since Shaun of the Dead. Especialy love the cameo from Bill Murray. lol.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - I dont know why people thought it was a disappointment compared to the first. It was a good movie, but then again it follows the rule of the trilogy. First movie is a classic, second movie does better than the first during the box office but slightly disappoints and the third closes the trilogy and is usually the best.
Up - An good story from the good folks at Pixar. Deppressing at first but it picks up and closes with a good ending.
World's Greatest Dad - Robin Williams at his best, funny movie, but it does drag at times. It flopped at the movies and on top of that is was in selected theaters. In case you dont know what this movie is about, its about a dad (Robin Williams)who finds his son dead in his room after preforming autoexotic asphyxiation and his dad covers it up. Overall I give it a 7.5 out of 10
Watchmen - if you have not seen it, please do, NOW!!!
Terminator Salvation - Awsome movie to reboot the Terminator franchise, but the the 3rd piece of shit Terminator movie. However I felt like there wasnt enough future war action. Overall it was a good movie to watch and even to own.
Crap:
Friday the 13th (remake) - omfg! This movie was a disgrace. Apparently it was a good idea to incorporate the first 3 movies into 1?!?!?!? How the first movie didnt even have Jason, it was his mom. And the second movie actually killed Jason.
Saw 6 5 7 whaever movie their on - Come on, jigsaw is a man that can plan traps 4 or 5 movies ahead, what the hell. After the 2 movie, each one after the other has been a 80% flash back movie.
Funny People - decent movie I guess if it was an hour and thirty minutes. However this movie wasnt. It dragged on for 2 1/2 hours. WTF?!? A comedy movie doesnt need to be that long. There where so many unnessary scenes. Just when it think the movie it about to end, no another plot arasies.
Paranormal Activity - brillant marketing sceme, bad movie. Its this generation's Blair Witch Project. The special effects where the only cool things about this movie and that is it, the ending, horrible. If this movie was real, I would be impressed, but its not.
The 4th Kind - I want my 2 hours back! This movie was at first being marketed as "based on real-life events" during the beginning phases of advertisment. After being debunked certain people, the movie removed its "based on real-life events" before it was even out. Due to that I think that is why the movie did bad. Again, if this movie was real, I would be impressed, but its not.
Inglourious Bastards - this movie was shit, pure shit. It was more like inglourious bastards and 2 other side stories thaat I didnt care much for. This movie was a complete inside joke for people that "got ithe joke". The only redeming part of the vmovie was the 2nd chapter. I accpected nazi killing, I got maybe 10 mins of nazi killing and the last part of the movie doesnt justify it, it should of been nazi kiling the whole way. Pure crap!

Star Trek - I'll be honest, I did not walk into the cinema expecting to enjoy this film, but I walked out of the cinema in love with it, whether it was good from a fan point of view I don't know, but for me, someone who was never really interested with Star Trek, it introduced me to it's world very well and has me itching for more. (Oh and the first part of the film is heart-wrenching for me.)
Ponyo - I think it was 2009...well anyway like most people I love Miyazaki's work, and many other of Studio Ghibli's work, but I really really enjoyed this, I loved the music and the animation was really well done, it makes me hope Ghibli never turn to doing 3D animation, 2D is just so much more special to me.
Up - I may stay away from kid films now that I'm no longer a kid, but I will always follow what Pixar release, and this didn't disappoint, a good touching story with beautiful animation, and they continue with using great composed music.
Avatar - It may at times not seem to have the most original premise or story line, but the characters and how the story is given to us is very well done, and I love how they brought the planet to Pandora to life, watching Jake marvel at the world of Pandora surely reflected the audiences awe as well, I know it did for me.
As for bad films well.... I don't think I've seen any, I tend to look up films before I seem to see whether they're good or not. Although Transformers did let me down a bit, I wouldn't say it was terrible but it wasn't anything really exciting for me, preferred the first greatly.

G.I. Joe - For being fucking stupid.
Paranormal Activity - For being fucking stupid and not scary at all.
Bruno - For being worse than borat.
Gamer - Meh
Saw 6 - For making me turn off the movie 5 minutes into it. IT'S THE SAME FUCKING THING AGAIN AND AGAIN!
Any of the others that I saw and didn't mention are aight. (not that you'd know which those are. HA!)

A little late to the party but I can't believe District 9 was only mentioned twice on here!! Granted I watched it on a plane flight as opposed to paying money for it in theatres, but that's only because I didn't think I'd be interested in it. I was so wrong. (I bought it later on DVD so don't yell at me!)
I think that was the best movie of 2009 for me, followed by Up. I also really liked Watchmen, but I think that's due more in part that I loved the graphic novel and thus would've liked the movie regardless. (Oh, and Jackie Earle Haley's acting was A+) Sherlock Holmes was good too, but nothing mindblowing. Transformers 2 was horrible. I went in beyond hyped cus I loved the first, and was so disappointed. Between that and G.I. Joe, I'm not sure which is worse. Probably Transformers... it should be renamed to: "Transformers 2: Megan Fox and Some Robots"

Err the only 2009 movie I watched was Up? Yeah, I guess that's right. It was pretty good, as expected. Not superior to wall-e in impact but still pretty kickass.
(I have watched other movies, but their not from 09)

WORST OF 2009
Inglorious Bastards has to be the most boring movie ever and Brad pitt made me want to punch him in the nose, His acting is highly overrated and I had to keep reading those damn subtitles, and for those of you who don't know already I HATE SUBTITLES!!

I only watched three movies in 2009.
Sherlock Holmes- OK, I watched it in 2010 but still counts. This movie seemed to be how the original novels were. I haven't read many of them but my cousin say's that this is how he is suppose to be. Nothing mind blowing but it was good. Will buy it on DVD.
Up!- Very very good, I felt this was one of Pixar's best movie. At least in the top 3 best Pixar movies. The animation was very well done.
The Princess and the Frog- This was a classic Disney animation movie. Was very good. Will not rank it like The Lion King but it was around where I would put Tarzan or Mulan at. Still worth watching.

District 9. For the first 40 minutes you're just like "wtf am I watching..." but it changes into an atual story and continues to own as a movie.
This is also the very first movie where I was like "WOW" at the special effects. Those guns were fucking awesome.
