Business plans for an anime store

Hello. I'm looking for a general list of the most popular anime(s?) in the industry, as well as any artists who excel in character drawing, though not necessarily in stories. Artists, it would be appreciated if you message me privately so I can bring the full list to the meetings. Also, admins and/or moderators, we're thinking of a possible partnership with Fakku, if you're interested, since we want to enclose all age ranges in the shop.

It would help that you say where you plan on opening this shop, as for the most popular anime, just stick to what every other anime shop has: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon and whatever else hits it big.

Then it's likely to be BAD for biz if you work with Fakku. Parents will probably not let younger kids purchase from something affiliated with a porn site.

Big figures and expensive Items dont go as fast as smaller items like Candy and smaller figures, you could also rent dvds to make money as well, location is important too.

The reason I ask what you find to be entertaining, personally, is because we don't want the general statistics. We're asking because we want to know the actual statistics, not just the views that the public market has said. Just because Naruto and Bleach are the "more popular" buys doesn't mean they're the more popular anime: How many millions watch and read their anime and manga online instead of spending the money to watch or read the actual copy?

A. Check your area for one and ask them. They can tell you if a weeb store is profitable.
B. If there a store for every 75,000 in pop... then don't. There only maybe 1 weeb for 1/2000 people.
C. If you do then the majority. of your base will be desufucktards so bleach, naruto, one piece plus cards/posters and weeb tinks like wallets, shirts, and jewelry.
example there was seven weeb shops in my area since 1995. The area has between 3 to 4 million people. There no stores left. Plus we have anime cons also. Last count we avg 3000 visits.Unless you have a customer base... your screwed. Try con work and swap meets.
If you do then import fine quality stuff and go import games and animu/mangos because weebs love untranslated stuff has trophy's pieces. Have a back room... hentai and stuff. My local comic store has them even though their not weebs.

Also, I forgot to mention this, but we will be doing hand-made cosplay and patterns for those who are in to that kind of thing. Once the shop is up and running, we'll be taking requests for specific cosplay designs. So if you want to do a certain character, or you want us to put together a cosplay for your character, then we'd be willing to do it. This is another reason why I want personal opinions.

I dont want to be mean, but this kinda sounds like one of those plans that "are gonna be so awesome", but then the store gets bankrupt in few months or in a year. Why dont you try starting as an online store and sell your stuff at the local cons (if there's any)? And if you get enough customers, then open the store somewhere.

My father owns a small business, what we had to do to get large numbers of customers is create/do something that drastically sets you apart from other rival company's.

I've been wanting to see a store that sells visual novels for quite some time. However there would need to be some explaining about just what they are, as it is possible there is a negative stigma to them in the states.

Kristoffer, I'll make a suggestion, but I can't promise anything on that end. We'd have to take measures to prevent the sold novels from being pirated in the first week of the novel being posted. =/

Well, it's been awhile since I last posted in here, but sadly I've received the news that it isn't going to happen. I'm sorry, everyone.

I wouldn't worry if I were you, investing in a store is a huge risk in this time and it's better that you saved up on a good amount of money.
