Business plans for an anime store

Ken, I wanted an actual opinion from actual anime watchers, not just a generalized statistic. We were hoping to cater directly to the Otakus/Weeaboos, not to the public impressions of them.[size=14]Thing is most of MAL users are otaku/weeaboos so the popularity statistics are pretty reliable when it comes to the US at least. You can be sure that whatever's popular on MAL will most likely sell well.[/h]

the only anime shop i know of that still exists is one in Little Tokyo near the LA Convention Center (which is where the Anime Expo is held).
i mean its a fun idea making a store that caters specifically to the type of crowd you enjoy talking to (like a non-brand affiliated video game shop) but it is very risky and not really worth it unless you live somewhere that is heavily populated.
otherwise you would need some gimmick to bring people in from all over. like the M&M Games where i live sells games from NES to current gen. even Turbografx-16 and Sega Saturn games were there.
without some kind of big appeal even if your store is awesome it wont attract customers (unless you lived like in Japan or something)
