Hey Guys! I thought it was about time that I upload some of my work.
Its been so long since I last got into any kind of art, and I only started drawing again reciently as im heading back to uni and need to up my skills.
So here you go, a selection of work from the last year:

FEW THINGS
By all means, constructive critics are welcome, just nothing too 'over the top' shall we say, im not going to improve if all I hear is negative drivel.
I dont have anything like Photoshop so recommending I use it will fall on deaf ears. Ive got painter but its oh so not user friendly so ill be experimenting soon.
If you have any suggestions subject wise feel free to let me know :)

Project 1: Gravion Doujinshi

This is the cover page ive been working on, please forgive distortions as my camera was on an angle (though belief will be had once it is scanned). Its only in pencil atm and this will probably be one of the only pages that will end up being colored.

Regular Work

A character design I did for something ive been writing for going on 3 years.
Here is a very rough sketch and then a practice coloring I did on Flash.

And heres one I did quite a while back. Not for any particular story, just drew the girl in the centre and kept adding to it.

There was a competition called '24 Hour Comic Day' where you had to draw a 24 page comic in 24 hours. That being said, my regular art style would not have been able to set such speed, as such I changed style for the day to a very chibified version. Here was a test picture I did in the middle of my film theory class :):

I was just going for a very calming, 'when you wake up you see this' kind of look.

Events basically played out like this. I watched 'Gravion', thought to myself "I wonder if there is any doujinshi on that series" went and looked, saw there was none, so made a page myself. Notice the bottom left panel is missing, because I messed up the inking of that one and need to go back to it :(

They are great i love your stuff so far!
Your style is quite interesting but some of them are hard to figure out from the size.hopefully when you fix them up and compress them i can see all of your stuff in all it's glory.

Ive updated the sizes, although the compression quality hurts a bit, but you take it as it is I guess, at least you can see it now :)
Also ive seperated the work into two sections, Regular work and Hentai Work.

Your using Flash? I have yet to use the program myself, so I can't really give you any feedback there.
As for your fist one, the neck seems to be growing/expanding. It's a bit odd. The head itself might be a little too big, but it could just be me.

The 1st Hentai one: The jawline is off. There seems to be 2 different places where it ends, making it seem a bit crooked. I'm not sure if they eye's placement is a result of that because that too seems off.

Other than that, keep it up! I hope to see more! ^_^

I think that first bit about the neck is more about how I coloured it, like coloring the neck with the brown (the hair color) so it has that thickening look, but I see what you mean. And its not just you about the head, I have the habit of drawing the head first and then coming in afterwards and adding the body so sometimes they are a bit out of whack, just need to draw the whole thing at once from now on.
I didnt even notice that chin problem til you mentioned it in the hentai pic O.O; cheers for that. Now it will look wrong to me forever lol. Thanks a million for the tips Gism88

Ill be like I am to everyone else, feel free to call me an ass, douche bag, stupid, etc and hate me if you want if.

Here goes...
The first one is alright with the anatomical structure and you got the basic set up kinda accurate! which is good but you ended it too early. Ok her head seems to be very odd... it looks like and egg that has expanded too wide and too vertical, her Eye's just kinda creep me out... her right eye is looking left while her left eye is looking left! that isn't natural, shes like looking into deep despair with unrealistic pupils. You probably over exaggerated it too much and wasn't defined to a proper extent so it just looks like her head as an egg widened up. Her neck seems out of proportion in size... or its just me because something bout it doesn't look right to me. Both her arms have the correct anatomical structure but both lack the proportions to make it accurate!
her left hand is missing a thumb,fingers aren't in proportion,pinkey finger seems way ti skinny in comparison to the others...there shouldn't be a loop there also it just looks terribly ugly. Her left arm is quite okay but seems way to straight and no arms should be that straight tho even its not an straight line lol hoping you see it from my point of view on how it shouldn't be straight. Shoulder seems alright but sorta same problem with the arm in a way.
Right hand seems better in proportion but the pinky and the one beside it aren't that short but its probably because its been bend inside tho your gonna wanna show the rest showing under neath it as it comes out naturally, Her thumb acts as like its a index finger or of one of the four...Forearm looks good but the rest above the elbow has the same issue as with the other arm... Its just too straight!
The boobies look decent and don't seem that of a problem but you may wanna follow anatomy more mainly cuz the head is not in proportion. Lastly you got her left leg expanding as it goes down and will probably look like a pyramid as it goes down.

2nd one has a nice style and cool look but its just way too cartoony and it isn't proportioned right.

3rd one is just meh but looks more like an older one but with no effort.

Your hentai works has by far much more accurate and better looking to your previous ones. Eye's are actually fixed and not as messed up as the other one...tho the head is too vertical so maybe cutting it to a smaller size will probably look better. Her neck looks better then before, arms still have the same bit of issue but looks better, Looks like the thumb is better along with the proportion of the fingers but it looks like all four fingers are as one and then separates near the end which looks very unatural. As her body comes down it looks like her breasts aren't even breasts that there as nothing is there and that two nipples appear out of thin air, You did a better job on the first one with the breasts and did a lazy job on the 4th one...breasts just don't come down like that as it comes down it goes to where it ends just like where it starts,but there close apart, take an basketball but cut the first quarter off so there is 75% left starting from the right, and that line showing doesn't help show your breasts as actual breasts.

Your 4th one looks a lot better then the others... head doesn't look like an stupid egg and doesn't widened up which is good, shoulders look horrible! looks like a scribbley line going across and no connection to the neck and the arms but the arms do look a lot better but still small problems, eff her left arm comes out of no where and is too exaggerated... just those shoulders look bad, also the mouth looks strange as it goes on to a girl.

about programs avoid using that program your using an actually use something that will help you achieve better results... also if your looking to do this professionally then look into PS or high end programs.

Think that's all on my mind...

not trying to shoot you down but trying to help but you can hate if you want.

lol dont worry about it, I know you aint trying to put me down.
And you really have a good eye for detail, also your right, the hentai works are actually a lot more receint than all the other ones, thus the up in quality.
The 3rd one was drawn in about 2 minutes specifically as a speed run since we only had a set amount of time per page, any more detailed than that and you would have no time to finish the comic.
I think it just goes to show how much my styles has changed these past couple of years :)
The first one was just done in pencil and scanned, not cleaned up or anything, which is why it looks meh too, no excuses though, probably should have touched it up better before presentation.
Im not looking at anything professional, im in film and game design so even if I was going to get any sort of professional programs it wouldnt be for a good year or two.
Till then, ill just stick with the pencils.

oh alright since those are speed paint's then I understand that time was of the essences...but I was just giving my opinion that's all.

Dont worry about me as competition, im in Australia so im fighting a losing battle anyway ;)

nope not as comp. just cool that your into the same sorta thing... well once your done school you'll move to North America for that industry.

I keep thinking its so far away, the end of uni I mean, but ive only got a year left and there isnt much choice but to move elsewhere. America is probably my best bet but ill figure it all out at the end of this year when I have a complete nervous breakdown :) Hopefully I can improve enough over the next year so I started this thread to get some advice as to what I need to improve on so im counting on all you guys for your support. hmm I really like your work. To me it seems I don't know how to describe it but It reminds me alot of the art work the manga provider CLAMP does and I enjoy thier work. It seems to feel fantasy yet real to me ^^

Hey you too huh? (Australian) Lol. I draw a lot of manga at home too, just getting back into it drawing Chun Hyang from Shin Angyo Onshi. Never tried hentai though, sounds like an ok idea. Lol Maybe I'll try that later.

On the first image your other critic there was a little overly harsh with you. The head is slightly too large but the shape of it isn't terrible. The size difference isn't huge either so whilst it is an error it still doesnt look too bad. The eyes are a bit odd and the reson why is the direction the character is looking. One eye is forward whilst the other is to the side. Thats pretty much it for the first one.

Seeing as all my drawings (virtually all) are single character I wont comment on the second image and the third is intentionally done for speed and I dont do chibi so I'll skip straight to the hentai ones! =P

Ok, this one is pretty good. I think the arms are ever so slightly too thin and perhaps the left breast should have another SMALL curved line on the inside (nearer to the center of the chest) to make the general shape a bit clearer.

Second hentai image, I will only coment on the right half of the picture because that is one image rather than 2 small ones. On this one my only piece of criticism is the eyes again. The closed eye is simply off in position. I hope this helps you get even better at drawing. I was especially impressed with the two hentai images, especially the first. Those arms need to be widened a bit. Other than that, great work.

Usually im way too critical on my own work so believe it or not, the OVERLY critical response you were talking about was way less than what I said about it after looking at it later on. Of course, I drew those a while ago and its been a while since I last looked at them, meaning I was happy with them when I came back and didnt see many faults at all. Taking time off drawing really slopped my skills so ive started back up again, most likely ill get heaps more done once I start up at uni again in march given that they are all practical units this semester, so much more time for development drawing :)
Hentai was just this natural progression step for me since I needed to learns how to draw the body better, and since a step after that is just drawing it with clothes on it seemed reasonable. Not everyone will feel comfortable doing it but it kind of felt liberating knowing that I have that option of art too :D

best to avoid anime since you really want to understand the body Its better to do life drawings or reference of a pic.
