Do people get shocked?

Not really, they just accept me as I am.

They ask what anime is when I talk about it. I kind of feel sad for them not knowing the joy anime can bring to there lives.

Not as much, i don't mention anime much unless its talked about amongst my friends but i don't go hysterically crazy and start going on tangents about anime.

The only ones who are shocked are those who've pretty much never watched anime before in their life or never liked it. I'm pretty much a normal guy outside of liking Anime. If they are shocked, then I would ask if they are alright since its pretty normal to still like Anime or cartoons for that matter, at my age.

But then again, I don't openly go out and say "I LOVE ANIME" unless I find out you like anime too. Then we can be good friends.

A surprising amount of my friends IRL watch anime and read manga. No one is really shocked by this fact.

If it comes up one of two things seems to happen. 1) the person talking to me also already likes anime (or at least accepts it as a variant of geek culture) or 2) They have no idea what anime is. Shock of any kind never really seems to occur.

If my friends or my family saw me without an anime, that's definitely not me.......

Nope, the people that I tell are not really surprised. But I am not a good example for I am not a social person, hahahaha.

It happens, some people just can't see how much fun anime can be I guess. But can't say it comes up often unless someone asks, and I am an really introverted person...

My friends are all ready into anime. They are Narutards though.

I am trying to put them through ecchi/Hentai therapy But they keep relapsing.

Some people just can't be cured. Do not let them drag you down to naruhell with them though, lol

All of my circles of friends can at least accept it as another form of entertainment but I also have plenty who are die hard fans.

I won't, I already established with them that I get very bored watching naruto so they
know I won't watch it with them.

all of my friend know that i'm into anime. still, i dunno how's their reaction if i tell them that i read doujins and watch hentai.

I think their more shocked that I like arty farty European films with Eng Subs over French Dub!! (MADNESS)

So apparently some of my friends thought that I had to look somewhat close to this if I read/watched as much anime as I did now




I just realized that the people who only get shocked are those that think anime is dorky or think that they're too cool for that shit. (sadly I have friends like those too)
