Do you like mecha anime?

1. good story
2. awesome fight scenes
having tits involved makes a bit better too

I love GOOD mecha anime (with a plot and everything). I want to be a 2D animator and I CANNOT FUCKING STAND IT when there's this 2D world with clunky flatly rendered 3D models lumbering around awkwardly. I only watch mecha if the mecha are drawn.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
Rebuild of Evangelion (not ALL the mecha is CG)
Eureka Seven
Mazinkaiser SKL
Gundam Unicorn
(I'm sure there are others)

I kind of have a weird relationship with mecha. I'm not interested at all in mecha as a concept, but I have enjoyed some mecha anime, like Code Geass or Evangelion. But the reason I liked those two is because it wasn't even focused on mecha, it was more about the characters, the drama, the psychology and the philosophy. In fact, at least for Code Geass, the parts with mecha were the least interesting parts of the whole show. That's the main reason I didn't like Full Metal Panic or Gurren Lagann as much as I could have. I still liked them, but I would have liked them more if not for the mecha.

the only mech anime I've seen are evangelion, FLCL, and gurren lagan and I loved them.

Need more stuff like Gurren Lagann :D

Knights of Sidonia -aka- Shidonia no Kishi
on Netflix and it isnt really a mech-based anime, it's more like Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within [2001], and kinda Metroid-esque. but I never really liked mecha otherwise.
But that anime is changing the way I think of it for sure.

Nope. I tried to enjoy it, I really did, but whenever I try to watch one, I cannot stop my inner self from criticizing its impracticality and unrealistic science.

Mostly Gundam stuff, but yes I like mecha a lot.

I'm not big on Mecha genre but I will watch the good ones.
Code geass, Gurren Lagaan, War on Germinar ect....

ilove when they are good most gundams are great but there are others that have a shitty story or shitty animation which makes it bad and not worth watching

Full Metal Panic! Did it really good... it was light but still... nice... some others are good but sometimes... they just add something really stupid... like the guy who needed to get turn on to become stronger while using the mecha... like... really? japan... right.... it's japan XD
