Mecha in general? Yes, I'm a fan. I'm more of a sucker for sci-fi and technology than I am for most other settings in fiction, and I grew up watching a few robot based shows, like Megas XLR and Robot Wars.
However, since the poll asks about mecha ANIME specifically, I voted sometimes. Yes, I like a lot of Gundam, and there are some really solid mecha anime out there. However... then we have the NOT so great ones. I've seen and know of some mecha that I'd try just once in my life and then never again touch (because I have a no-drop policy so I'll watch something at least once to completion). Case in point, Nobunaga the Fool and Aldnoah.Zero (I'm just gonna see what happens in season 2, then I'm done, the writing got so bad near the last few episodes). Hell, I even soft dropped M3: the dark metal (basically on hold for now indefinitely, it got too mediocre for me).
So yeah. I love mecha. But mecha anime not only has to have good mecha action for me, but also has to be a good anime in general.

I do indeed like mecha anime. My top three include Knights of Sidonia, Mobile Suit Gundam Z, and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The 08th MS Team.

But that anime is changing the way I think of it for sure.

Can't get enough of it really.. though I don't include star driver and argevollen in that. See, whenever I watch a mecha anime, I'd always think of the gears and things that make it move. Weird though since I don't feel the same about cars :|
You're not bright are you?

I do like an occasional mecha anime from time to time, though I'm not my friend who is this HUGE gundam nut who is on a Gundam Marathon from 0079 to Reconguista in G.
The last mecha anime I watched was Linebarrel I believe.

I like the genre, but I just have a problem with how they make those shows. Either it is full on fan service like Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse or talk about the internal politics way to much like in some Gundam shows.

Yes, not very bright. I restrict myself on mecha anime being mechanical. Not a magically moving, thin-limbed, ultra sturdy, physics defying, science-free robots. I hardly call them mecha since there's scant mechanical in those things.

I'll admit that my standards for enjoying media (not just anime, etc., but most any creative work, from literature to games) are very nearly all-inclusive, but this genre in particular has produced some of my all-time favlrites. From Gurren Lagann to the more recent Captain Earth (Please stop calling me that...!) "mecha" series just tend to have an enormous appeal to them; indeed, my "Top 10 List" would have at least half the slots filled with these series. Also, I'm not sure how to put it, but many of these seem to have far more "humanity" than most series that revolve around human characters... I dunno, I just love stuff like this.
P.S.
That Metabee had me laughing to myself, heh. :)
