Fanwork is always fun to see, and watching an adult interpretation of events that would never play out in the original work is for the most part, interesting. Another point is the re-imagining of certain scenes, or simply putting characters into sexual situations is worth a good read/fapping session.
However in the end doujinshi are limited to the believable scenarios and zany situations which they can be placed into, mostly because it's taking pre-established characters and resetting the setting or completely tossing their personalities aside. Don't even get me started on the inflation of the breasts of most female characters, oftentimes to the detriment (in my opinion) to my attraction toward the original character design. I read a lot of fanfiction and thus come across Alternate Universes a lot, so my threshold for taking the same main characters in reimagined situations has been raising the bar higher and higher so only particularly good (or especially debased) works will grab my attention these days. For those series I'm not familiar with, or never got into reading/watching, these problems are lessened but the purview of available situations are restricted nonetheless.
I will most definitely prefer to read a manga, "original" in both cast, situation and setting. There are of course, ultimately a limited number of possibilities even outside of non-fanwork. However, the combinations are much more open, and thus some retreaded "character types", "situations" or "settings" can, and oftentimes do, feel fresher. There is also a greater possibility to see a greater variety of fetishes in manga, as it is up to the mangaka what sorts of sexual conduct is portrayed.
There's a window opened up of the audience to the mangaka's own views on sexuality and debasement and love and relationships and society. A more personalized narrative is possible unlike a doujin where the constraints of pre-fabricated characters goes so far as a doujinshika is willing to take them and the audience is willing to go along with it. For hentai manga, the author is able to create his own world from scratch, and that's something I applaud and encourage.

Hentai manga. The story makes it all better
Some doujinshi may be good, but personally think that manga is better

I am mexican but this is a tough choice. Both are very good but i'm gonna vote for doujin the reason is simple the characters in a epic session of sex

I think manga is better cause it just replicates the artwork better than a normal doujinshi. Although there are a lot of good doujinshis out there.

Manga. Doujins can be good because you can know the story+background beyond it, but in manga you can see the author's creativity and imagination really come out to things that you won't normally expect

Manga hands down.
Even though manga does not encompass manhua (which doujinshi can sometimes include)...
Manga generally packs more punch than the doujin counterpart... especially because there are extras (omake), and the fact that manga is not term-specific for my definition. You can have an enjoyable manga such as Love Hina, and have the hentai manga such as Love Selection (which is comprised of doujinshi chapters).

Doujin, why ? because if i looking for hentai i really didn't care about the storyline, just sex-sex-and sex.
and if i read a Manga, i didn't care about sex scene, but the storyline.

Im gonna have to say manga. Doujinshi are good, but often it just strays too far from what you already know of the characters and that just puts me off. Stupid as it sounds, I mostly read these for the storyline or that warm feeling you get at the end rather than the sexual content itself as that just basically the same in most doujins/manga.
Then again, if its has cute lolis, I'm in.
