Use lesser saturated colours/cool colours for backgrounds, and warm pink colours at closer areas. Bright lights are used by contrast from surrounding as well as simple lighting effects like Glow, and sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight dodge...

I never cease to be amazed by the stuff you can pull off, Mycstea. Especially since upwards of 80% of your stuff is loli, and I'm propropropropro^5 LOLI <3

Unfortunately, i've decided i'll probably quit drawing. It's been a good life, a good journey, but i have reached my limit. I cannot reach what i want, no matter how i struggled. It's been a 4 month struggle and i have come to a grave conclusion.
Have fun guys, while it lasts. My dreams and wishes go out to you.

What time was it when you posted this in your time zone? ;-;

Hmm you're quitting? I never liked it when people quit drawing especially such a good artist as you because it makes me sad. I hope its just sort of a temporary depression. I have gone through the same experience and tried quitting but realize its something that I love and can't let go and ended up drawing again.
But if its your decision, then there's not much I could say except good luck in the new direction you are heading. I'm gonna miss your drawing skill...

No need to quit Myscstea, you just need to take a little time off, maybe changing or improving your skills then come back

Take a break from this, but try a differnet approach or style, if you draw from your head do some life drawing, if you only do digital, get in touch with traditional stuff.
I used to draw everyday during until my freshman year of high school. Used to draw like haruhiko mikimoto back then. I had it down. I felt frustrated because i was just a good copy but nothing more and I quit. It wasnt until i graduated from college 9 years later that i started to try drawing again. I havent been able to reach that level yet and i've been practicing for 4 years.
Dont quit. Work it under a new guideline. I quit and now i regret it.

First of all, let's just say that this decision didn't come easy. It's not a matter of just say "oh im not enough" and "i quit~!". No it isn't.
I've drawn since 9, that's freaking 13 years. I don't think i can call myself a noob in trying other things to improve. I know traditional, i've even sold my trad works in exhibitions so don't think i know nothing else other then anime.
Thanks for sharing your story f0dd3r, i respect you for the comeback. Sadly i have to say, it doesn't really change what i think since i've already felt it coming months and months ago. I'll truely quit when i finish my current projects... so until then, if anything stirs up my passion again, i'll probably retire after i'm done with these.

Well, Mycstea, you better find a very involving hobby to replace drawing. Otherwise you'll be back into it before a year's up.

Damn, i really hate to hear you said that. I really admire you, in many ways.
Mycstea... Maybe because your art appreciated too much, so you "maybe" never feel like this before.
Practice is not like play or work. It will never fun and it will never end. What you get is pain and it's never ending, but of course there is a prize, even a little.
But be happy that you being hurt, it also means that you want to improve, right?
I already tried to make you back, for your own good. Not drawing for money (because i sometimes see you like that), but for what you want.
I also will never be a real artist, it's just hobby. I'm a programmer after all.

Alas due to my fucking promise with my lecturer 2 weeks back... i still have to draw something up for him...
1 Hr simple shit. Have sum loli man! First time i ever show a guy i drew... though not the face. Those are on other pages (means ive drawn for that too... sigh...)

By the way this scene is a sad scene when the main character(guy) loses his mother, and the girl (his daughter) doesnt know abt it so ya, dun poke fun at it. It's a serious pic.
Also tkhnoman: I don't understand half of what you're talking about.

Spoiler:
You know what, for a 1 hour drawing, I personally think this picture was well-drawn. By well-drawn, I don't mean the quality of the lines and such, as your other drawings were much better. As you said, this scene is supposed to be serious, and if it is, keeping it black-and-white was a good idea, as it adds an air of melancholy to the picture.
EDIT: So basically, I mean that the feeling the picture gives is what you probably intended.

Not really. I'm just too lazy to colour this for my HOMEWORK. And that's 10 pieces to CG... and thus, i decided to just go mono =3
