Hey guys. I have a PSP 3001 Version 6.10. Does anybody know how to downgrade it to Version 5.55 or Version 5.03?

You're gonna need to sign up for an account, then when you can view the thread, the upper parts of the thread have various Custom Firmware, complete with instructions, for download. I didn't really read through, but I think it's compatible with the 3000.
As a bonus, below the CF, free games to download. Hope this helped, and enjoy.

Thanks, but no thanks.
Like I mentioned, I have Version 6.10. There is no way of downgrading or installing CFW unless my version is 5.03 or less. Thanks for the link though.
Here's the reward:

The jailbreak system for iPods can be made within weeks or months, and most PSP forums updated their cracking information until 2009, or the most recent April 2010. I think it's possible, but just not out there.

The problem lies within the Motherboard of Your PSPs.
Later 300X series motherboards is not downgradeable and cannot use the Pandora Battery.
If only I can find the Chart.
2 suggestions
-> Buy UMDs
-> Sell/trade your 300X PSPs for a 100X/Early 200X series, used PSPs is no problem.

this, buy a phat or old 3000 model with 5.x.
saves time, plus I've noticed that phat's are a lot more durable than 3000's.../looks at cracked screen from dropping psp 3000 3 ft to the carpet floor

Phat doesn't always mean more durable than slim.
Ex: iPod Touch > iPod Classic. They tested the iPod Touch durability by dropping bricks on it.

well, in the end it's your choice GD.
UMDs, or homebrew
Since they don't sell UMDs like PS3s in here, I'm forced to do with homebrew.

So if I want to run homebrew games on PSP 2000, the version of that PSP has to be less than 5.03?I just got an info update from my local PSP lounge
----------------------------------------------------------
PSP 300x can make 2 types of semi-custom firmware (semi-permanent because it is not perfect yet cannot be installed permantly to the flash memory)
namely:
- 5:03 GEN-C
or
- 5:03 M33-6/MHU (via custom firmware enabler)
the only Series 300X PSP that can be installed is 5.03 or under it. (you need to upgrade it first to 5.03)
your PSP will be called 5.03 ChickHEN R2 if you succesfully did it.
And any ChickHEN PSP, you must not Turn it off or run out of energy. it will delete all the system that you have just installed, since it's not Permanent
so, better Sleep it.
Like basically, If you want permanent get a 100X series.

All the things I put in the spoiler are the ones I already knew, sorry to say.
So are you saying the permanent ChickHen cracks are only available for 100x and not 200x?

Well, 100X and early 200X doesn't need ChickHen. They can go CFW permanently.

Which version and under would be considered early for 200x PSPs?

It says I can check my motherboard version after I crack it. I want to know beforehand so that I don't brick my PSP.

Installing ChickHEN won't brick your PSP, if you did it right, and it's not permanent.
The final problem lies in your OFW version. If it's above the requirement, then it's a no go sadly.
